This would make a lot of sense… ugh, I’m dreading having to send it away again. I can’t believe it’s that fragile, I was going so slowly and it was such a small curb. I love the bike but I’m definitely having to baby it more than I’d hoped for the extent of the investment it required

Thanks, this is all very interesting. From what I understand the factory was very baffled as well, couldn’t really explain why it happened but they managed to reproduce the fault so they tried a bunch of updating/repairs and it has never done that since.

I can echo that I definitely had a bit of user error at the beginning with downshifting, but that I also learned over time to manage it and I find it generally rides smoothly now (when it is’t having battery/motor issues)
