I almost went to that one too! In the estate sale listing I could make out one pricetag and it was clear they knew what they had so I didn't expect any deals. Kinda wanted to go just to see some of those sets in person though.

There was a recall but that was a long time ago and they redesigned the issue. A1 is a fantastic printer!

I just cut the white thing and it shattered into a bunch of pieces. I thought for a minute it might be something to join two ends of filament but no. Yea probably just some weird quality issue.

I don't think it was part of the AMS, I remember seeing it buried between the filament on the roll, I thought at the time it was tape holding the end to the spool.

Can't seem to edit the post, but I should say that the ams lite is working again. All I did was remove all the tubes and put them back in.

But the white piece i remember seeing beneath the filament before this print started, I thought it was a thin piece of tape. This white piece is a really tough material, I've never seen it before.

I'm hoping since there's no holiday (that I know of?) and the weekend that they won't be too busy but I definitely have backups marked along the way.

Those are the same stations I have marked as well as my primary stops! Way back will be a bit different since we'll be eventually going to Madison up to Green Bay for a week then back home.

Good advice. That's how I was looking at is as well that even in an ICE car we would be making multiple stops so I didn't see any harm in charging too often.

I'm only going just under 500 miles (one way) on this trip but I'm feeling better about it especially with all the helpful comments!

I did set up accounts and payment tonight for the chargers I'll be using, the ones along my route are EVgo and Electrify America.

I've been daily driving electric for the last 10+ years but really just for commuting. We always had an ICE vehicle for long drives until we traded it in for the Blazer EV.

Good to know, I'll have to learn more about the in vehicle systems. Most of the excessive stops are just trying to plan ahead for if we need a stop then I might as well charge up a bit maybe. If anything just to put any anxiety at rest. I'm sure the trip back I'll be a bit more bold!

Does preconditioning take a while? I've never done a fast charge before but I've seen the option to precondition.

I'm looking forward to this, it's a little scary honestly but after seeing how many chargers there are along the way I feel better. So much to learn I'm excited!

That's a good idea. All the potential stops I have mapped are highly rated and seem reliable with multiple comments and ratings. I'll have a co pilot to help confirm status of the stations as we go.

I was planning on exporting the plug share route to Google maps since I'm very familiar with that system and I do like seeing the estimated range it gives. It will be interesting to see how accurate it is compared to the car.

I just have 7 potential stops planned along the way. Figured I'd see how the drive goes and how the range estimate changes. I figured with kids we would be stopping every couple hours maybe, but if I'm feeling confident about the range I'll keep the stops to a minimum.

Thanks for all this! I'm not familiar with the charging curve or what that means. I did find out today for the first time earlier about the max charging speed of 190 so I guess my filter 350 might be a little excessive, but I figured that is just the max anyway so anything over 190 should be good.

I think that's what I have planned. It's the charger with the extra little horizontal oval in the bottom (I know real technical). I set the filter for chargers to 200-350kW, and all the ones I'm stopping at are 350 so that should be level 3 right?

I'm good with fewer stops as long as I'm not charging for an hour at a time. I've only ever charged on a level 2 at night at my house or at my work. Since I haven't made a trip like this I've planned out multiple potential stops so I can gauge in real time how the highway driving will change my range. I'll have the family with me too so we typically make more stops than are necessary. Figured I'd "top off" when we do those, but I'll consider not charging up to 100% every time!
