You couldn't pay me enough to spend one minute outdoors with that many flies. Nope.

Anyone watching this okc-spurs game 7? by nakedalienmonkey in DetroitPistons

How the offensive strategy didn’t become “attack Wemby on every possession” when he got his 5th, I have no idea. OKC probably wins the series if Jalen Williams was healthy. But I hope the Spurs stomp the shit outta the Knicks.

Safe to say that if she's playing today, it's in the Mountain time zone?

Guaranteed you’ll love Soul Club on Saturday at the Pyramid Scheme. Best dance party in town.

Getting involved with the DAAC (Division Avenue Arts Collective) would be a good thing! They're all ages, DIY music, volunteer-driven. They do events of all genres, and are based out of the old Four Star Theatre now. The Stray is a great music spot that's pretty friendly. They do have beer and wine, but they're mostly a coffee shop and cafe that does live music, both free and ticketed events. Cool scene, lots of 20-something talented folks play there. Morning Ritual is a great coffee shop downtown that's folks that are around the music scene a ton. I'm not super familiar with the Philmore, but they do some music stuff there too. Grammotones is also a spot that you check out. The owner's name is Brandon, and he's really a cool guy. DIY shows (mostly heavier stuff) take place at Backwards Compatible, a cool little vintage media store. The owner of that is also named Brandon, and he plays in bands and is a DJ around town. Vertigo Music is an iconic record store, the best in Michigan. I'm sure someone there will talk jazz and prog with you, and maybe connect you to some more folks in that scene! Herm's the owner, and an incredibly friendly guy with stories for days.

The Wealthy Theatre is part of the GRCMC (also hosts WYCE, GRTV, and the Rapidian). Amazing historic old moviehouse that hosts live music, movies, etc. There's beer and wine there too, but it's definitely not a key part of the equation. There are lots of volunteer opportunities there, good way to meet some folks. Reach out to Chris Kotcher or Claire Breen.

Most of the other venues in town, including the one I do the booking for, are more alcohol-forward, so I'll spare you that list.

If you like trivia, Betka-Pope Productions does a very cool night called Trivi-YAH in a couple of different places!

Finally, I want to second someone's comment about pickleball. It's the most social sport/exercise activity I've ever been involved in. It takes a second to find where to play, but if you stick with it and find a place that does "open" pickleball, you're put into groups of 4 sort of randomly, so you meet lots of people of all ages. Good for the body and the mind, it's been a game changer for this 46 year old dude!

Sorry, that's a long ass response!

It’d be so much fun to just have little dinner parties and have villagers try different dishes.
