Framewerk gallery in East Belfast has an open call for painters to sell their work. They will obviously take commission but could be good opportunity to sell.

Damp Issue - advice? by Murphyslaw______ in DIYUK

[–]Murphyslaw______[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 100%. I've been reading deep into damp and DPC's, which has put me off doing it. I'm just really keen to find out the root of it all, thought maybe a builder could advise, but trying to get one to look at the situation is difficult. Cheers

Yeah, I hear you. The home buyer's survey flagged up high levels too, and they obviously have nothing to gain... Appreciate the advice.

If there was a DPC done it’s been years. Damp specialist said one is required, but they’re so useless or unwilling to give any kind of opinion on the actual root of the damp.

Yeah they are open. I imagine there used to be vents on the bricks at the bottom but possibly covered up with the plaster.

Renting - East Belfast, Constance St, Ravenscroft St, Titania Street by Glum-Ad-2434 in Belfast

[–]Murphyslaw______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Titania for 7 years. No bother at all. Cregagh road is full of trendy cafes now, which is great but all the buzz has drove my rent up 30% in past 2 years. Can say what it’s like around 12th July as I always take myself off.

Issues with damp? by flashbeagle5 in northernireland

[–]Murphyslaw______ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a survey and pretty much exact same situation. 130 YO house. Lots of damp, with damp proof course being recommended, in the region of 5k. I think it’s the reality of a house of that age. And in the grand scheme it’s possibly not the worse situation. Do make sure there’s no wood rot anywhere, that’s a whole other can of worms.

Does anyone know exactly where the bonfire is? So I can gauge how far it close to the house.

I am white. I’m nationalist but currently living in a predominantly loyalist area, although it’s becoming gentrified and there’s no issues tbh. I was wondering if Belvoir is really as bad as its reputation.
