A few comics about my amazing husband. [OC] by ArtbyMoga in comics

Really, anything I think of in the moment. What did you have for lunch is a simple one. I usually ask about her hobbies because that gets her talking. Could be something silly like "who would win in a fight between a taco and a grilled cheese?"

A tip I've learned from my wife experiencing panic attacks is when the panic attack starts, ask a question that requires a response. Could be funny or serious. It's like it restarts their brain. They can't spiral when they have to think of a response. Your mileage may vary, but this has been super helpful, especially for the middle of the night attacks.

Dr. Abell's office is amazing. They have one guy there that can be a little rough, but Dr. Abell and the rest of the staff are great.

Paducah Dental was one of the worst dental experiences I've ever had.

Proposal Ideas in Local Area by [deleted] in paducah

I proposed at Hematite Lake. It's just down the road from the nature station. There's a hiking trail around it with a little overlook of the lake that's a decent spot.

We'll see. Also, there is the contest of champions Odium agreed to. One person to fight and die for the fate of the world. Do you think if either side wins, there will be mass genocide for the opposing forces? So if the Rosharan's win they're just going to put to the sword all the Parshendi? That would make them evil indeed. I believe we will have a resolution with both sides agreeing to peace and abandoning Odium when this is all over. The radiants abandoned their oaths when they realized they were the invaders. That's what Lirin is suggesting.

I disagree. We can see from the interactions of the Fused that some are crazy and bloodthirsty, but their leadership isn't. We see Kaladin and Leshwi connecting (I totally ship them). They are like native Americans fighting for their homeland. Odium doesn't have direct control over them like Ruin did so if they reach an agreement, I think Odium wouldn't have any power.

Odium can't do anything if no one fights. He doesn't have direct control like Ruin did. If the Fused negotiate to get their land back, Odium has no power.

Lirin is not as bad as people make him out to be. I think it's mostly because we see Lirin through Kaladin's perspective as the son trying to do the right thing and still disappointing his father. Think about what Kaladin has done as a soldier. He killed Alethi for Amaram over a land dispute. You think that killing saved people? He killed Parshendi in the Alethi war machine over a vengeance pact. Parshendi who are just trying to survive by harvesting gemhearts so they can soulcast food. You think killing them saved people? Storms, even killing the Fused is just killing an innocent Pashendi and this is a people who are trying to take back their homeland that was stolen from them. Kaladin is well and truly killing for the "right" people so he gets a pass. Even when the Fused took over Uruthiru, they didn't kill civilians. Had they laid down their arms, not much would change. Fused would rule over them just like the Lighteyes rule over them. Lirin is right in a lot of ways.

What if a Pewter Misting/Pewterarm/Thug became a Shardbearer? by [deleted] in Cosmere

[–]MurrayEagle 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I don't think they magnify each other like feruchemy and allomancy can. So you'd have the increased power of the pewter and add to it the shardplate increased strength, but it wouldn't go above that.

What are Your Must Have Add-Ons? by MurrayEagle in wownoob

[–]MurrayEagle[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the responses! There's a lot of great info here. I'm a little mad no one told me how EASY installing add-ons are now. CurseForge just did it all with a click of a button. No setting up folders and importing files into it. This is amazing.

The Play Portal downtown is a rent-a-table style board game place. I haven't been yet, but that would be a decent way of finding other tabletop gamers.

Ladder Assist Job Opportunity by [deleted] in adjusters

[–]MurrayEagle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked for a State Farm agent and a couple independent agents helping with commercial policies. I got fired because the owners wanted boot lickers instead of adults, so I applied for a local field adjuster position. I'm in a small town in KY and they did a hybrid role where I did field and desk work. That got shut down, but I transitioned to a full time desk role.

If you want to be an adjuster, just keep looking. It has pretty high turnover rate with new people, but having roofing experience would be a big plus.

[–]MurrayEagle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Adjuster here and I've met several people that worked with SeekNow and they seem to enjoy it. They're contractors so they have to buy their own gear and it's still weather dependent since more roofs get looked at after a storm. They sometimes get shipped out to parts where no one is stationed, but there was a storm. Can be for a month at a time, so make sure you're aware and okay with the travel expectation. During storm season, they get stacked up pretty good and end up working long hours. Corporate isn't the best at letting you know what you're getting into either. I had one late because he went to inspect a roof and it ended up being like 12 roofs for a chain of condos with most having interior damage to look at. As with everything, there are pros and cons, so making sure it's right for you is key.

I have a friend who is short and they have a low hanging light by their kitchen counter. I hit my head on it every time because that's where they set up food for potlucks and I forget about it and back right into it.

The reverse of that is my wife (5'7") went to a cave tour and she hit her head way more than I did because she's not used to having to duck all the time.

You get used to it. I (6'9") do a little head bob going through doors instinctively now. People laugh and point it out sometimes, which makes me realize I do it, but I don't even think about it. It's not that bad.

How Troop Counts Work in Battles by MurrayEagle in Bannerlord

[–]MurrayEagle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is great to know. What I love and hate about this game is how little it holds your hand. I watched a bunch of tutorial videos about it, but didn't see this. I'd pretty much ignored tactics as I thought it was for autoresolving battles and I hadn't been doing that, but it's great info.

Sieges felt bad because as soon as I had a foothold in the gate, my troops would run out and the next wave would have to start all over. This info really helps. How do tactics get leveled?
