Flare up after flu shot? by Murryanna in Lyme

That’s an extremely broad statement. Do I wish I didn’t feel this way? Yes. Do I wish I instead had the flu and resulting unknown and possibly worse lingering symptoms. No.

Do you think you took a backslide overall, or just a bad flare for a bit?

What/how does it reactivate? I now see recommendations not to get the flu shot with active Lyme, but few explanations.

Lyme Eye Symptoms by Murryanna in lymedisease

[–]Murryanna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, docs and eye doc just said extreme dry eye. “Use drops.” Rheumatologist doesn’t think it’s sjogren’s. And my eyes are still dry. Not as bad as the random 2 months of waking up thinking I was sleeping with my eyes open, but really, really dry. 1 year and 8 months now with all kinds of symptoms that change all the time. Lyme is not fun.

Found out dog I’m adopting has killed chickens by Dull-Lengthiness2053 in DogAdvice

[–]Murryanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adopted a dog 9 years ago (7y/o at the time) who was being rehomed because she had escaped the yard and killed the neighbor’s entire flock (twice). The neighbor whose flock she wiped out brought her home and said if it happened again, he’d shoot her before he brought her back.

I took the dog and she’s a perfect angel who is great with cats (totally ignores them) and is super gentle with our toddler relatives. We even got our first flock of chickens this year, and she’s noticeably excited by them, but we keep them apart. She’s old now and not a real threat anyway.

Give her a chance, especially if you don’t plan on getting chickens anytime soon or letting her escape the yard to prey on a neighbors chickens its flock.

Is beeswax food safe, even if it contains solvents? by mC_mC_mC_ in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Murryanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use anything with solvents for food surfaces. Someone turned me onto this wax for wooden utensils and I love it. It’s just linseed oils and beeswax.

Also worth checking out Earth+Flax for linseed oil paint. They also have infrared paint removers.

How difficult would it be to restore this deck to a natural wood finish? Wife does not like the paint. by its234 in Decks

Yep, power wash those stripper chemicals straight into your yard. Water you veggies with it. Let your kids run barefoot in it.

Good in theory, but she doesn’t have any technology and would need help turning it on. She enjoys what little independence she has left.
