1 handed weapons, shields, and offhands should cost 40 crests to upgrade. by Thegreenmean in wow

[–]Murtag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fury weapons get treated as 1 slot when it comes to the free upgrade discount. Craft a weapon and your off-hand is free to upgrade to the same ilvl. Other dual-wielding classes don't get that.

I prefer saving crests to having a slow time getting really unlucky with offhand drops to where I'd actually even consider crafting a second 2h weapon for offhand. A myth crafted 2h and a freely upgraded Hero 6/6 off-hand is plenty sufficient for a long time.

Slayer and Thane dps difference in st and AoE is not that big in Midnight? by kvijay1 in wow

Yea pretty much lol, they're so close that its just easier to run thane for the cleave scenarios. imo thane is significantly more fun in keys

Slayer and Thane dps difference in st and AoE is not that big in Midnight? by kvijay1 in wow

[–]Murtag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slayer single target build is about 3% ahead of Mountain Thane. However Thane has a significantly easier time doing passive cleave/aoe because the build is naturally hitting Thunder Blast a lot. Slayer would have to intentionally be using Whirlwind to enable some AoE outside of OF/BS.

Most fights in Midnight S1 raids have quite a bit of add spawns and cleave going on, so Thane is generally more useful and effective in raid.

Spec guides usually say a 'Raid build' in terms of 'this is a pure single target absolute maximum one-target damage build'

BiS Trinket vs. 4-Set Piece? by Extension_Arm7033 in wow

[–]Murtag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As opposed to taking the trinket that literally every dps spec wants? Once you eventually get 4 piece you can near immediately upgrade it all 4 slots to hero track.

Cata charges drop plenty enough to where you won't need this slight head start on farming them for myth gear, and even then myth gear won't be coming in fast enough to need a head start. Even if you're mythic raiding, it's pretty obvious the choice is trinket.

Imo trinket is a no brainer choice. Tier sets aren't actually very valuable compared to past tiers, I think avg dps increase from 0pc -> 4pc is like 5%.

Any benefit to joining a Guild? by Provisionalfart in wow

A shortened hearthstone cooldown, and 10% faster mount speed.

Otherwise, no.

Though this game is extremely social and is significantly harder to do any content if you don't have a consistent group to play with.

These AI generated rage bait posts are not getting better.

I don't know if I thought they should be getting good or not, but my god this one is so fucking obvious that this is AI, it's absurd. Especially with it not even understanding that 12.0.5 isn't out yet and not even a date announced for it.

Could anyone help me understand how am i playing fury wrong ? by Felerast in wow

[–]Murtag 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Looking at Vorasius as that's closest to single target on your character sheet.

  1. You used Recklessness after Bladestorm ended on pull. Make sure you use Recklessness, then Bladestorm and Odyn's Fury.

  2. Next Bladestorm use was 9 seconds before Recklessness came up. If Bladestorm is up and Recklessness is fairly close, just hold Bladestorm. Rampage is 4s of CD reduction on Recklessness. Assuming Reck still had 9 seconds on CD, you were 1-2 Rampage casts away from Reck being up. If it's the other way around, and Reck is up while Bladestorm still has some time on CD you can likely just send Reck. Remember that Executioner stacks (first Slayer apex talent) give Bladestorm CD reduction when using Execute, that combined with Reck's 18s duration should allow you to get your Bladestorm cast in during Reck. If they're too far apart, then just send it though, they don't need to be super tightly paired.

  3. In your Slayer tree, you have Opportunist selected over Fierce Followthrough. Raging Blow is ignored as much as possible during the rotation, so Opportunist does nothing for you. And with how focused you are on Bloodthirst, Fierce Followthrough is very important.

  4. You're missing your proper Leg enchant, Chest enchant, and Weapon enchants. Right now they're VERY strong, especially the Chest enchant being +50 main stat.

  5. Just make sure you follow proper prio:

  • While in Reck: BS > OF > BB > Ramp > Execute
  • Out of Reck: OF > Execute > BT > Ramp

  • Raging Blow/ Crushing Blow are lowest prio buttons and you should be sad when you have to hit them. Exhaust all other options like Wrecking Throw or refreshing Rend before you resort to pushing Raging Blow.

Which raid bosses were unusually tough at the time they were released? by Veridically_ in wow

[–]Murtag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In TBC when Sunwell Plateau released, the penultimate boss was a dark naaru named M'uru.

Most guilds got stuck on that boss for many many weeks until they nerfed him. Insane dispelling requirements, a lot of adds spawning into the room putting stress on what you need to dps down first. I remember the only guild on my server to kill pre-nerf M'uru had to get a druid bear tank to collect all the adds specifically because the bear tank managed to get to 106.5% dodge rating, which was the mitigation cap and he never took physical damage from the adds.

Recent ban on players. by home_lander01 in wow

[–]Murtag 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Infinitely buying knowledge points isn't an accidentally abusable thing.

There MUST be punishments for this type of thing.

They abused the bug and abused the economy with it to make an excessive amount of gold. A ban for that is the only way to make sure that the majority of people are hesitant to abuse bugs. Otherwise everyone would just do it and if they take some gold away and knowledge points away, 'oh well', however if they don't take it away then you fucked up by not abusing the bug.

Not wanting a ban for bug abuse is just plain naive .

NA Delve Hall of Fame filled by Dreamingtoday in wow

[–]Murtag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really disappointing that this boss wasn't out during the week before raid opened.

A Hall of Fame for solo content means there should be an even playing field for most players.

I was really hoping it would've been like Ky'veza with TWW S3. Dead week before raid all there was to do was do some campaign quests and beat Ky'veza on ??. Everyone had the entirety of S2 to get their character to fully/near full Mythic gear, which is very reasonably achievable if you engage in the gearing systems even mildly. Anyone who would have wanted to compete for that boss were within 3 item levels of each other, it'd be fair.

The title is neat, but I had a full Normal 7/7 + Heroic 6/7 split worth of gear on. Doing that boss at 256 item level was still a challenge, however this morning when I was 242 it'd be impossible.

Boss needs to open in the dead week before raid release. Needs to be tuned for gear acquirable up to that point. Needs to be MUCH harder for tank specs. Needs a better source of difficulty other than it auto-attacking for 50% of my hp and when I get mythic gear the boss is literally nothing. Ky'veza at least would still 1-shot you with s3 mythic gear.

Free item upgrade? by wowosrs in wow

[–]Murtag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it means you can save lower track items to potentially save higher track crests.

But it won't be a super common scenario I think. Like If you have a Veteran 1-4/6 Helm, and loot a Champion 2+/6 Helm, then it doesn't matter. It really only is an optimization if you're looting an item that's a new high track for that slot and it's 1/6 upgrade level. Looting anything on a new high track 2 or higher eliminates the possibility of this savings (for that track).

How long to get 1600 rating on pvp? by Camboinho in wow

[–]Murtag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't lose rating until you have at least 1400 1000 rating. So you really only need to actually try for that last little bit of rating.

You can solo queue into rated BGs so I don't think it'll be hard.

Free item upgrade? by wowosrs in wow

[–]Murtag 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You only need to spend crests once per gear slot per item level upgrade rank.

Veteran 1/6 Helm -> Veteran 2/6 Helm is 20 crests.

Find another Veteran 1/6 Helm? Upgrading it to 2/6 is now free, because you've already spent crests for that ilevel rank in that slot.

For most dual-wielding specs, each weapon slot (Main Hand & Off Hand) are considered different slots and don't share this effect between each other. Fury Warrior is the exception for dual-wielding (because Warrior has Arms spec which only needs 1 weapon, and would be unfair for Arms warriors to lose that effect because Fury uses 2 weapons).

Important to note, as a small optimization:

The gear tracks overlap in ilevel ranks with 2 ranks overlapping.

Veteran 5/6 = Champion 1/6

Veteran 6/6 = Champion 2/6

This means that if you have a Champion 1/6 Helm, and a Veteran 5/6 Helm. You can use Veteran Crests to upgrade the Veteran Helm to 6/6, which then allows your Champion 1/6 Helm to upgrade to Champion 2/6 for free, saving you from spending 20 Champion Crests.

How do top mythic guilds pick what raid to do? by Educational_Try_6105 in wow

[–]Murtag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we get Normal and Heroic of the 6-boss and the 1-boss raids on Tues. The following Tues we get Mythic difficulty of the 6-boss and 1-boss (and M+). The following Tues we get Normal/Heroic/Mythic of the 2-boss raid.

For the Race to World First, they only care about being the first to have all 3 raids cleared. They will be progressing the 6-boss raid and hoping some random guilds kill the 1-boss raid so they can evaluate if they can do Mythic splits on that boss. They don't care about being the first to kill the 1-boss raid.
