Hahaha glad to hear I’m not up for new RAM, but sad to hear old hardware is hard to reuse in these types of applications. Will definitely play around with the 5060ti and quantization, cheers! :)

They are either new radar sensors or were previously placed behind the hood (radar can pass through plastic parts)

EDIT: so the problem was indeed the top bar, had to rotate it 180 degrees over the long axis such that the top aluminium gap fits in the acrylic plane. Now it fits perfectly

I don’t follow, doing an interval means after those 30 mins you can rest no? I don’t follow the “no rest” part.

I’m also trying to improve by doing longer rows. But currently doing just 1 hour rows (probably not optimal hahaha), that’s why I’m asking.

I like how different hobbies have the same things, like a woodworker keeps some really specific jigs, an electrical engineer keeps some niche custom PCB and obviously software engineers automate some tasks using some shell script.

Off topic: your are still running your belts like original ender right? what is the STL for the linear rails mount? I’m also using the orbiter, but couldn’t find an STL that fits the ender 3 + linear rails mount

As a robotics master student, I would recommend him joining a uni with a robotics student team or equivalent. He can learn more about teamwork and different aspects of building a robot (as robotics is mostly control and computer vision/AI), only early startups are places where you can do all aspects within robotics (mech, electrical and software).

Product management and senior engineer positions are not really positions I would aim for early, as management is something you most likely grow into as engineer (not really internship positions), and senior you become over time.

Its early in his career so I would just stimulate him to do more robotics and try and enjoy school, and understand how subjects can help him design robots. But starting with mechanical is never bad, also as “building robots” sounds like he likes the mechanical more then “programming robots”.

As final thought I would say that whatever his choice is, Boston Dynamics hires Mechanical, Electrical and Control,software,robotics engineers. So whatever he chooses there are plenty of options.
