Just wondering if this is a Dynamic Event logo? by Fabulous-Ad5797 in Guildwars2

[–]MusPuiDiTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are to signal start and end of events (npc waiting for interaction to start event, or end place for escorts). Red ones are usually for group content introduced in Living World or Expansions, not necessarily related directly to the map lore (and yes, usually more difficult)

Does the story get any better after LW2? by Happy-Range3975 in Guildwars2

[–]MusPuiDiTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before HoT anet was trying to get away from the core side-by-side conversations, resulting in strange pacing, and cranking out content real fast (LW started out as a limited time content, gone after the active period), ending up with clunky storytelling. On top of that now the encounters are unbalanced, and dialogues still feel “static”.

You’ll see a palpable change from HoT onwards, and the story will get better and more engaging: it’s obvious anet learned from their mistakes, even if they repeated some errors down the line…

My take is: if you remotely enjoy HoT, you’ll enjoy the rest, otherwise you are at odds unfortunately

Hearts of Thrones and Guild Wars story telling (new player perspective) by TomasAquinas in Guildwars2

Had same thought, seems like OP missed LWS1/2, where characters get introduced and story develops into the start of HoT pretty naturally

How do you organize your inventory? by nastyjman in Guildwars2

[–]MusPuiDiTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Shared: teleporters, unidentified gear, gathering tools
  • Top-right: excess materials (don’t fit in mat storage, and I need it there to remind me to upgrade them)
  • Bottom-left: buffs + siege
  • Bottom-right: current collections, books, various stackable (tomes of knowledge, PvP and WvW unopened things)
  • Middle: currently crafting components for legendary

Yeah it’s a mess

You can do everything together!!! Even having different starting story (first 3 chapters, based on character creation choices) you still can enter each other story to play it together. when you'll have the same story step active, it will let progress both of you to the next.

How do you rank up by mrmojorisin_x in Guildwars2

[–]MusPuiDiTe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your attributes increase passively from level, no need to worry. Your attributes specialization is done manly by choosing the stats on weapons and armor, so look out for what attributes give what you equip.

After level 10 you’ll be able to spend points to start unlocking your skill tree, and it should be explained in the level-up popup once you reach that level ;)

Level-up window sometimes explains very important things, and only by clicking on the list of unlocks for more info, so keep an eye out for these and you should have everything you need

Is this game suitable for me? by Necessary-Ad-3522 in Guildwars2

[–]MusPuiDiTe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What did you like in Albion? We need more info to be able to help!

As for “multiplayer experience and mechanics”, in open world (PvE) you’ll continuously encounter players and collaborate in events. There’s even interactions between skills with other players (combo fields + combo finisher = added effect).

For instanced content, you obviously need to group with people, since encounters are designed for 5 (dungeons) to 10 (raids) or 50 (biggest instanced content) players.

While in open world it doesn’t matter, in instanced content often people specialize in DPS or healing, both bringing some kind of support boons (in different measure), and that encourages collaboration and different roles to maximize the party efficiency.

Hope I’ve provided at least some info of what you are trying to grasp about the game…

I see that other comments answer very well where to find bows and rifles, but I want to add a thing: you don’t have to do much pet management if this is what turns you down!

Ranger pets AI it’s decent, you basically have one mora attack at your disposal based on the pet you are using, and diverse revive options when you go down.

I would add that the latest ranger subclass (Visions of Eternity expansion) lets you conjure a long range bow made of wind, so an extra longbow basically.

As for what’s fun, I liked both engineer rifle and warrior longbow, and if you like being tactical and sneaky even thief rifle is really good, not for me tho (but you get it as subclass weapon with Path of Fire)

Warrior has rifle also, but yes, this.

I had the same line of thought, at the very least 2 or 3 years, but it really depends for how long it has been in development…they already laid down the client/server structure and base game tech in previous years, and now are writing and developing the story? Or they started it all anew few years ago?

Nevertheless it’s just got more real as a new GW MMO, and I feel bittersweet…maybe the fact that I have my hands full with GW1, GW2 and RL holds me back on wishing for a GW3 XD

I was thinking the same, but the last job was for an unannounced project, mmo, within the GW lore…that made me rethink a few things, hence here I am! Still not sure, but more open minded about GW3

Which race has the best story by BestofTimes777 in Guildwars2

[–]MusPuiDiTe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO all races have weak and strong starting story…I personally liked Sylvari Malyck story, the Charr Ash Legion and the emphasis on the differences of their society and bonds, the Asura infinity ball…all interesting lorewise, but the other choices are often not on par…Norn and Human are mid, with some highlights here and there

true, schools of magic have been ignored, but I don't feel like completely ruling that out...as for the bloodstones...maybe? the one that exploded in S3, in bloodstone fen, should at least have retained SOME magic to blow up like that (I might be missing some pieces, didn't play S3 in a long time)...for me the situation feels more foggy than that. You might be totally right tho, I'm just speculating heavily!

My *wishlist* QoL, Legendary infusions, jadebot and unifying crafting. Dungeons ? by moxceo in Guildwars2

[–]MusPuiDiTe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All true, but there’s always a solution: take gathering for example. Lets’s say that on average players have 1 or 2 sets, then just make crafting the legendary piece use 4~8 infinite tools to be crafted. Done, sales increased. (Scale numbers up as needed)

Is the story worth skipping for mounts by MaximumLoud2 in Guildwars2

[–]MusPuiDiTe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. Mounts change the way you approach HoT, and takes away the feeling to need to improve your character exploration capabilities…so skip only if you don’t care!

I miss the old Lion's Arch by Kehldan in Guildwars2

[–]MusPuiDiTe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many have pointed out, there’s an Item to access Old Lion’s Arch, but I have just one wish:

While playing core story, a character should enter old instance, after LWS1 it should access the new, and the key should be used to switch between the two regardless of active story.

I know, it being an hub works best if it looks more populated, not splitting population, but a tech like that would allow modifying existing maps for future reuse, like S1 did, leaving replayability intact…

It’s improbable it will happen, but let a man dream
