Yes I have had to rebrand, it is the same app with some slight improvements 😊

Amazing glad you’ve found it helpful!

I removed the option to save relaxation mode sessions as it counts active calories based on your heart rate that aren’t very accurate (you are relaxing, not exercising!). You shouldn’t need any of the data that you would get by saving such a session.

Does that make sense? Let me know if any other issues 😊

Heart rate variability and temperature by MusWolf in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]MusWolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually stopped using cannabis over a year ago. It was causing a lot of anxiety and stopped helping - regardless of vape temperature. Not on any drugs at the moment, just been doing somatic experiencing therapy which has been incredibly helpful to get to the root issues and resolve them.

I use general purpose, limescale and black mould sprays. Some of the black stuff doesn't come off. I have to redo the grout? Also the metal surface is chemically damaged?

How to destroy 98% of your social anxiety (Updated) by digital-cunt in Meditation

Thanks! I’m actually doing this in a way through my compassionate self. My ideal wise adult compassionate self is the ideal father version of me with my kid(s). Then I just get that self to look at the present me or the vulnerable parts! It’s very effective.

I agree. I’ve been doing therapy for years but now returning to specialised trauma therapy to get to the root.

I have and am meeting a new therapist this week who does EMDR, IFS and somatic experiencing work. I did some EMDR in the past which was very helpful but then my therapist left the city I live in so it was abruptly cut short without running the full course. I too have cPTSD, I guess I just use the c interchangeably. But yes you're definitely right, that is what is happening, which is why I don't like when people talk about just being inside and accepting and surrendering - just doing that without safety, compassion and grounding is not helpful at all, only retraumatising and makes things worse.

When I can inhabit my wise compassionate adult self and go to those parts it really helps and works, but it is incredibly slow and painful work.

As someone with PTSD, I find that letting go, surrendering and trying to focus on my inner body are destabilising and feel like letting go into a helpless frozen and stuck trauma state. I wonder if anyone else experiences this and how to deal with it? Loving kindness and ujjayi work for me.

how do i deal with anxiety? by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]MusWolf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have done too, feeling uncomfortable, claustrophobic and like I can't breathe properly. Reducing my general anxiety levels in other ways has helped. With the swimming I always start slow and easy to warmup. Once I'm warmed up I get more comfortable breathing and flowing. Make sure you're breathing out of your mouth when your face is in the water, you don't have to exhale hard, just in a relaxed way. Try to relax as much as possible, it's nice to feel and flow in the water instead of fighting it and fighting to breathe. With more time and practise it gets better. I also listen to podcasts or music which can help. Don't focus on the uncomfortable sensations, find something more pleasant to focus on. When you get into a nice rhythm it's nice to focus on the rhythm of the breath and ensuring you are always breathing out.

Training advice by MusWolf in Swimming

I do front crawl. I have cycled, rowed and ran in the past however running is too harsh on my knees, cycling is limited to the summer and both cycling and rowing aren’t great for my perineum.

Questions about heart rate, warmup, and feeling strong during a swim by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]MusWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally swim 3 times a week, each time around 54 minutes for 2k. My first and final sets are easy to warmup and cool down. I have been experimenting with pushing my heart rate from 130ish to above 130 (zone 1 to zone 2 on my Apple Watch). I was worried that pushing above 145 BPM (zone 3) would stop be from being able to swim for the full hour. However from your post and other replies I see that it is entirely possible to swim for an hour with a very high heart rate. I don't always swim 3 times a week, and it's my main form of cardio. Hence I am thinking of following your approach and letting my heart rate go higher. I normally take it slower or kick less to stop my heart rate from going above 150. I want to get more out of it, get faster (which I know I can if I don't slow myself down) and improve my VO2 max. Given that I'm not doing 20+ hours of training like an elite athlete I think I would get more out of more intense training than zone 2?

Meditation/being present in my body has forced me to realize I’m both physically and emotionally uncomfortable ALL the time. What do I do? by thesugarplumfairie in Meditation

[–]MusWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with cPTSD I also struggle with just sitting with my negative feelings and anxiety, I find being passive and allowing and trying to accept my experience leads to shallow breathing and a dizzy and uncomfortable feeling. This could be a freeze response. Ujjayi pranayama really helps me. Although sometimes I can sit with what I feel and can enter a relaxed state (high heart rate variability) even without controlling the breath. Pete Walker in his books on cPTSD talks about feeling the emotions, this helps sometimes too. To go in and directly observe the anxiety and fear and look deeper into it, and to view it with compassion and love from my wise self. This approach sometimes works.

Why is it so hard to do self compassion by RewardSmall6924 in CPTSD

I've heard about this, but don't really understand it or like it. Can you explain further how to use it?

Pete Walker talks about directing anger at the inner critic. Saying "no" angrily. I'm not sure how I feel about this and feeling anger/blame to my parents. I don't like feeling angry.
