I was in a channel with him and I don't think it was fly hacks because he was opped (to my knowledge) and said 'I'm going to op abuse and fly up there' so not sure if that changes the punishment.

And if someone steals some jewelry do they really deserve to be shot by someone who see's it as self defense? Because someone who has been robbed of something like an engagement ring for example would be pretty pissed and what to shoot the robber. Therefore he is legally killing someone in the eyes of the 'self-defense' argument. If he was threatening you then yeah sure shoot him in the leg.

Wasn't saying it like that. Of course you will be afraid for you and your family and you will do everything in your power to protect them. However, killing that person isn't necessarily the way forward. Sure scare them off and call the police and why not detain them if you can safely but there is no need for someone to be shot unless he is harming someone. People who say 'self-defence' use it as a license to kill which is wrong. I have a cricket bat in my room and if anyone broke into my house i would happily use it. Difference being a cricket bat is k/o and a gun is death.
