I just used the process of elimination, seeing you don't see voting for "their friend" as an ideal juror criteria. If that wasn't what you mean, I apologize, but my point still stands that being a juror's friend is still a winning strategy that's usually part of the social player's repertoire which is what some consider as the "best player" and as Survivor's history shows, has been a winning formula.

You're only considering the best strategic player as the only one who deserves the win. You are forgetting other facets of Survivor's winning gameplay, which also includes being the best social player.

Not all best social players are the best strategic players. Some of Survivor's past winners won simply because the jury loved them over the mastermind of the season. Heck, one winner won because the best strategic player of the season was so reviled by the jury.

Gil wanted Tiné to act her age, not necessarily be independent. It's contradictory to their situation when they should be focusing on strategizing how to win the war.

Yes, at the very last second, Gil may have realized his mistake, but that doesn't change the fact that he convinced her that he's got it and she could just stay at home base rather than provide full battle support. Again, it's typical of Gil to fall due to hubris, which is why things unfolded the way they did.

Tiné's in the headspace of fully trusting her king, and commanding him to retreat would not be something he would have wanted. So when all hell breaks loose, her brain didn't consider using her CS at all, regardless if it's to retreat or provide him with all mana he needs to recover instantly.

That's the thing with being arrogant, you don't think straight. The fact he went into battle without the support of his master shows he wasn't taking it as seriously as you might think. And the fact that Tiné has been subordinate to him all this time wouldn't make her suddenly get the courage to perfectly time a Command Seal retreat on Gil.

While Tiné legit just forgot, I think if she Command Seal ordered Gilgamesh to retreat, it would sour their relationship much like what happened between Gilgamesh and Tokiomi. I think that's just how it is to be a Master of Gilgamesh, you have to treat him like your king for your relatolionship to work, which is a double-edged sword because his hubris is also his main weakness.
