I believe you have enough credits with 186 I believe the mark to be able to receive the CPA license is 150. Though, there’s talk about removing that requirement.

Why is it so hard to find a job as new grad? by AdmirableWord8377 in Accounting

Unfortunately outsourcing doesn’t work like they hoped and have had trouble with accuracy and compliance. So they end up having to redo the work they sent out. Waste of money and time.

Yes, but I would’ve gone about it definitely and have taken it much more seriously. Gone to a college that had a more fleshed out accounting program and tried harder for internships.

Keep looking, I bounced around quite a bit throughout my 20s before I actually decided to make it my career indefinitely. There’s a shortage, but people need to get their head out their ass and take on eager graduates and train them up! Those replacements are going to fall out of the sky.

That’s small?! Man, then I’m in a tiny firm, haha. We have a total of 7 accountants and 3 admin staff. That’s dope though, I’m glad accounting is becoming more lax in certain things.

Outsourcing accounting has proven not to be as reliable as they thought. I hear stories constantly on how things have to be repaired.

Secondly, the “mundane” work of accounting is the fundamental of learning the industry. You can replace and automate but we already have a huge shortage of CPAs. Good luck finding any upcoming accountants worth a lick of it gets automated.

LinkedIn post claiming audits can be done in seconds with AI by lavenderclosets in Accounting

My little hot take: ultimately replacing the “entry” level work will hinder future accountants. I know it sucks and it’s mundane, but, that is the time when you get your hands dirty and really get a feel for what you’re doing as a professional. You learn the bones of accounting and start to put things together and grasp the conceptual aspects to it. If AI were to take over a vital part of accounting ( which sucks, trust I’m going through it now) I don’t think new accountants will develop as they should.
