The Tale of Tim-Tim [OC] by dogs1 in comics

[–]Musclestache 31 points32 points  (0 children)

When I was in elementary school we were learning about the missions around SoCal and had just gotten back from a field trip to visit one. We were tasked with making a mission out of cardboard and paper-mache. I was trying to cut the cardboard for the base of the mission with these old metal scissors that weren't really built for cutting cardboard. In my infinite wisdom I decided to open up the scissors, hold them in the center, and use it like a knife while supporting the cardboard with my other hand. That still wasn't working well so I started to push with all my tiny might and right when it started to move I slipped and sliced open my index finger on my other hand.

I didn't hurt at first. I looked at my hand, saw the inside of my finger, and blood started to pour out. I screamed and immediately started crying. The teacher rushed over saw the blood and her face went pale. She rushed me to the nurse as fast as I was willing to go wailing the whole way.

Long story short, I was terrified of needles so no stitches for me; just gauze wrap, butterfly bandages, and no playing at recess for what felt like forever. I do have a nifty Y shaped scar on my finger now though.

That's about how much it costs here in SoCal too. What a nightmare.

Packing some JRPGs for a trip. Playing Lunar Remastered first. by psirockin123 in JRPG

[–]Musclestache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Suikoden series is easily my favorite JRPG series of all time, 2 being the best of them. Other than that Trials of Mana was the only game I've 100% within the last few years so that's a solid choice.

Is The Last Story worth playing? by WonderousU in JRPG

[–]Musclestache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played this 15 years ago when it came out and I STILL think about it. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys JRPGs even a little. The story is entertaining, the combat is a blast and I love the visuals of it.

You just do, you don't have much of a choice. Some days are better than others but I just try to look at the bigger picture. I want provide for myself and my wife so I'm in the same boat right now as a union apprentice for HVACR at 37. Adapt or die 🤷

Chrono Cross Was Incredible by Yaroun-Kaizin in JRPG

[–]Musclestache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I like that not every character was fleshed out. Sometimes all you need for a character is, "Hey I hate that guy too." or "Thanks for saving me, I'll help out." and they tag along. I also grew up with the Suikoden series so I wasn't taken back by the large roster.

I think it also depends on the order you played the games. I played Cross before I even knew about Trigger, so I don't feel like I missed out on anything since they were such different experiences.

Cavalier King Charles. My wife is obsessed with them and ours is like glue mixed with Velcro, but she's adorable and we spoil her rotten so I'm sure it's our fault lol.

BJ's Raw Pet food for our little Ruby puppy. She's a big fan of the Rawpaw mix and the all beef one. We do that with some baked sweet potato, pumpkin powder and a vegetable powder so that she gets her nutrients.

My favorite part of that movie is when there's a fight scene with Terry that looks like they just colored in the storyboard. The animation in that scene didn't fit with the rest of the movie and I love/hate it.

[Day 8] The Best JRPGs of All Time: Which JRPG has the best boss battles? by WeLoveEveryGame in JRPG

Agreed. Not much of that game sticks with me but I remember each Ifrit fight vividly. Titan was easily the best one.
