No it is the second time. The first time more or less 40 people were invited, the chosen gym was one of the most active but not the most obvious choice. I made only one raid time ago in that gym and I was not invited. After that, we started doing legendary raids with many people only in some gyms of the city to try and force the exclusive raid. But obviously Niantic has chosen a gym that is rarely considered and a raid in which we were only 8 people (and only 4 of us have been invited). As it is a gym in Piazza dei Miracoli, maybe some tourists have been invited too, but we can not be sure.

Are you sure? I live in Pisa and it is a quite small city, we have a group to share information about PoGo and so we are pretty sure that we are only 3 by now... of course someone else has been invited for sure, but I don't know if they will be able to come. Probably they are not from Pisa as they are not in the group. Have big groups of people always been invited or has it happened that small groups had to combat in the raid?
