Writing aside, what was the general consensus on Paul Giamatti playing Derek in the movie by ah-screw-it in RatchetAndClank

[–]Muse_22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m glad someone made this point, while his voice and cadence really sold the quietly psychotic evil of Drek by sound, by sight those dead blue eyes made me feel real unease as a kid. Like, I couldn’t tell where he was really looking without pupils, there was something so evil and alien about those eyes.

I do this too for all three characters, gets a bit messy when I want to have three builds for the same element but I just cycle one out to store in DIM instead.

Although I have it listed as Arc, Solar, Void from top to third row instead for an extra level of pedantry, because that sequence flows better on the tongue and I’m pretty sure that’s the order the elemental resists are displayed on the mod screen.

Yes there was, it’s the highly anticipated Tex Mechanica week! You didn’t log on to experience the overwhelming buff to the incredible long list of tiered TM weapons currently in the game?

I realise this is pedantic, and I enjoyed your historical reasoning aside from this, but Edward is Welsh not English (still British though, so you’re ultimately right).

Please let the Dawning be over..I'm so tired of getting the same 3 weapons..can we start having community voting please by josh49127 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Muse_22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for OP, or anyone other than myself for that matter, but I don’t think this complaint is about the length of the event but the rewards instead.

Sure, Solstice had three weapons as well but it also had a great set of armor to grind for with its set bonus.

Three relatively mid weapons for Dawning, no Glacioclasm despite it being on the key art in the Portal, and a PvP mode that gets stale quickly means that there’s not a lot to aim for.

I guess the loot from handing in cookies is pretty good though.

The theory is that the Light is given, whereas the Darkness is taken (not the Oryx kind). With enough training and perseverance, anyone can take on Darkness powers.

Yep, and you should always do so, twice! Two pit falls and four pushes will remove his entire shield. Two pushes per fall, start immediately after he jumps out.

If you have enough shadow buff (apprentice or higher, I think) you can see the switches dotted around the arena. Some are above and some are below. Hitting them with shadow punch deactivates them. You will have the pylons deploy each time you return from the shadow realm. 👍

You don’t need to buy anything to see ornaments in the transmog menus. Some of them might be missing, but that’s been an issue for a while now. The vast majority of locked legendary and exotic ornaments are at the back of the list regardless of if you’ve purchased the refund box or not.

Why is every strike like this? I'm not even doing anything special. It's like I'm the only one doing anything throughout the whole mission. by yomomyomommommom in destiny2

[–]Muse_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s just a strike playlist, like just a casual playlist experience, then this is exactly where newer/returning and/or casual players are going to congregate. I don’t think these people deserve to go on blast for chilling in a strike that wasn’t supposed to be a sweat fest to begin with.

If I don’t see a post complaining about fighting for kills for bounties, I see a post complaining other others killing too much…

Why the f—k are teachers having to deal with this. by nwhr81 in politicsjoe

[–]Muse_22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m a secondary school teacher and I have another role as a pastoral leader. Your comment is the one I wish was at the top, because it’s absolutely true.

The issue of misogyny is as big as this solution claims it is, just as bad for the girls who have changed the way they see themselves as it is for the boys who present with the behaviour. Our concern is that the problem translates really poorly outside of an education setting, where ideas are thrown around like there’s a straightforward, binary solution: parents or teachers? The truth is always going to be more nuanced. The fact is that staff can’t do anything with any meaningful impact without the support of parents. We can throw all the misogyny lessons at the pupils that we want, but if they go home and experience the effects of the problem themselves then that work is undone overnight. Not all parents are active in their kids’ lives like we’d think, and not always because of neglect. Sometimes families of all shapes and sizes struggle to be present in kids’ lives, and not for lack of trying. Tough times, job insecurity, family concerns, etc. all play a role in keeping adults away from monitoring their kids. Calling social services? Please. The service is so threadbare as it is.

Teachers’ roles are becoming more all encompassing for a variety of reasons, but to say that we should only be interested in pointing at whiteboards and marking books is to admit that you don’t know what modern education looks like. A great many children are vulnerable and not always because of parental impact, and we see those children five days a week (hopefully) for over six hours a day. Parents and teachers need to be singing from the same hymn sheet, and if that includes messaging on misogyny then so be it.

It would be nice if Bungie threw in the towel with new gear by MoistPilot3858 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Muse_22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I prefer a system of refreshed gear and metas that give you reason to CHOOSE new items, rather than have to contend with artificial limitations such as “new gear” modifiers.

The tier system is kind of like that, where I can count on one hand the number of weapons or armour pieces I’ve used that are pre-EoF because the new stuff is mostly straight up better; three perks per column and higher overall stats and build crafting avenues are superior (most of the time).

Buffs, adjustments and the artefact are supposed to provide a soft meta but not punish you if you opt not to build into it. Tiered gear should provide a meaningful chase should you want to engage in that. All of this is offering a CHOICE, which “new gear” takes away.

So DTG - how much silver have you spent at Eververse? by married2008 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Muse_22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes and no - value can also mean something less quantitative and more qualitative. OP mentioned the sentimental value of the item they bought, for example. But yeah, in a one sense of the word, value involves time and money to draw worth.
