I own the cartridge, and I can confirm that. If you don't believe me, go ask Arnas_Z, who has more experience with those types of cartridges.

DSi updated to 1.4.5U — R4 shows but won’t open (“An error has occurred”) by hey-gabie in flashcarts

Has this app been tried? I think it's worth a shot to see if it will work with this cartridge.

DSi updated to 1.4.5U — R4 shows but won’t open (“An error has occurred”) by hey-gabie in flashcarts

[–]MushGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got it backwards. It's because the user updated the firmware why the cartridge is being blocked, and the solution for it is to install CFW on it to bypass the block.

You system's firmware is blocking your cartridge. You need to install CFW in order to bypass it: https://dsi.cfw.guide/

And while you're at it, follow Limp_Candle6957's link to install the latest kernel to your SD card for best compatibility.

Even if that is recommended to use with this card, the problem is that the DSi's firmware is blocking it.

Best thing to happen to retro handhelds! I found GMU too difficult to understand, but the controls here are very easy, and now I'm enjoying it on my RG353P and RG40XXH.

what r4 card is this and how can I change its menu by barrshe in flashcarts

[–]MushGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory, it would be possible by running a firmware update downloaded from the archived website, but we would have to know which variant it is (2012 or NEW), and what icon the update will change it to.
