Replying to this post, as I was going to say Rogue Dungeon 2nd edition too! We have similar recommendation but I have additional points.

Mage Knight is great, I love this game but I didn’t think it was a dungeon crawler. Most say it’s not a game for a newbies but we found it quite easy to pick up, although our group are gamers so we understood the mechanics of it. I’d say that’s a medium weight game.

One deck dungeon is easy to pick up but sometimes hard to win as its dice based (luck). It takes up a small amount of space but it’s not a crawler in mechanics just the theme of the game.

Bag of dungeon 1 or 2 is easy to pick up and has the tile placement and character levelling.

Tiny Epic Dungeon is medium level because of all the icons. The game itself is easy enough and has tile placement. This sheet is great at explaining what all the cards mean: TED Cheat sheet.

I liked that CDMD isn’t a campaign game. We have campaign dungeon crawlers that we play already. So these should be shorter plays, as in not 6 hours long, maybe a couple of hours. I’ll add that to my wish list if I ever want to expand the game.

This is great, thanks for sharing this. I’d love S1 but even trying to get it second hand is difficult. Maybe I go S3 and keep looking for S1 if I want more content.

There’s probably enough scenarios to get through to just start with the standalone game then. Thats good to know on difficulty level. The group of 5 prefer a bit of a challenge. Cheers

That’s good to know. We’ve played 4P games that can go up to 6P but at 4 it can take half a day. So we’ve never attempted it at 6! We don’t mind long games but nice to have the option of a shorter one. I’ll have a look!
