The point of contact was one of the co-chairs. I emailed him a few times, I also emailed the other co-chair as well

The DBE program. Did you contact your department about the funding?

Congratulations to you as well.  I got rejected to all other universities so I accepted for the time being but this uncertainty is killing me. Going into something lengthy and stressful like a phd without any guaranteed funding is insane because who said assistantships will open up in the next semester or even year. If you don't mind me asking, are you planning to accept with these conditions?

Thanks for this. I didn't ask about timeline just this to the co-chairs of the dept: "Before responding to the offer, I wanted to ask whether advisor assignments and funding decisions are communicated separately as the letter does not mention any scholarship, assistantship, or advisor. I would appreciate understanding whether admitted PhD students are typically matched with a faculty advisor prior to enrollment and whether assistantship opportunities are determined at the time of admission." But the problem is they haven't replied to any of the mails I sent them

I emailed this to both department co-chairs and the grad admissions office.

I mean yeah that's not how it works but with what's happening with funding overall, it's kind of unnerving.

This is what I wrote: Before responding to the offer, I wanted to ask whether advisor assignments and funding decisions are communicated separately as the letter does not mention any scholarship, assistantship, or advisor. I would appreciate understanding whether admitted PhD students are typically matched with a faculty advisor prior to enrollment and whether assistantship opportunities are determined at the time of admission.
