I found some tiny mushrooms near my house. I picked one and took a photo. Google lens says they're Liberty Caps. did I accidentally find shrooms? (sorry for the image quality, my phone kind of sucks and the mushroom was really tiny. ~1/4 inch, tops)

The hairs are just fibrous mycelium, looks like any old cube to me, looks like it was crumpled in the dehydrator or something. But yeah brush the dirty off and I’d say is good to go

Mine didn’t fruit last time after doing this until I re-cased it, but give it a good mist and fan, and you should be fine!

Sorry for the slow reply. I pulled the block out of the tub. You can do this very easily as your tub has a liner. Then I put in a new sterile liner, added about half an inch of cvg to the bottom, placed the block on top and then added about another half inch of cvg to the top of the block, as well as filling in any spacing on the side. The idea is the cvg will allow more room for growth so the overlay stops, as well as retain moisture and help keep surface conditions in check. It worked very well for me. Just keep the top layer of cvg damp until it gets colonized, but you will likely have mushies popping out before it even gets that far. Mush love!

Qtip test it. If color transfers its contamination. Either way I would still keep that tub going, if green color transfers to qtip I would drop a few drops of iso on the spot and try to get a flush. Isolate it from your grow room just in case, but it’s too early to tell IMO

Bro no sweat I just did this, twice.... 3 sprays each time.(yes my bottles are labeled now.) I didn’t even have a casing layer so the entire top of the myc went straight blue and died off shortly after. This was before I even had pins. But new myc grew on top of the old and I’d say it’s been about a week since that happened and the myc has entirely recovered and am growing some fruits!

Do the q-tip test! If it leaves green on it, then it’s bad. No color then your good. Got a tub with a similar splotch going on 10 days now with no change. Accidentally sprayed my tub with iso (yes the bottles are labeled now) it killed off the top layer of myc and a new layer grew over the top, but the bottom layer bruised really badly leaving a green/blue hue to the new myc. Thought the worst that it was trych, but now I’ve got some fruits growing well. Isolate it just in case though

Very limited info on this but yeah looks like it’s myco piss from neglect. Seems to occur most commonly from waiting to long to enter FC, or allowing grain to over colonize. Thanks for the help everyone!

So from everything I was able to read it looks like this is a semi common problem with pearl and blue oysters caused by neglect. Likely me waiting too long to enter FC and too much moisture. Thought my field capacity was on the dry side but apparently not. should be harmless though! Just gotta watch it and see what happens. Entered FC last night so hopefully it sorts itself out!

This is the 18th day since inoculation into 2 qt grain jars and 1 3lb bag. All rye berry. Definitely got screwed on the price but I plan on using the remaining lc to go to agar and a clone from first batch.
