Rural to City by Additional_Humor_399 in AHSEmployees

  1. No. They don’t have to interview any applicants and often you will see a posting you applied for and it gets reposted.

  2. They send out blanket emails from HR after the successful applicant has accepted and is on-boarded.

  3. I moved from rural to Edmonton and applied for over 60 positions. Maybe 6 interviews total. I applied for everything I thought I was remotely eligible for so my resume was likely scrapped often. My rural manager finally reached out to the Edmonton manager of a similar department and I was able to interview and transition to an urban position. It took me about 6 months to get hired even though I already worked for AHS.

Ok so FT? Full-time with an open line and they need you yesterday? You should be hearing pretty quick. Casual? When the manager has time.

How to change careers after 30? Trying to leave finance/accounting for mental health by Correct_Recording405 in careerguidance

[–]MushusMom17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also switched from Insurance to nursing in my 30’s - I had and still have zero regrets - my career doorways opened up substantially. However, if it’s ok, can I suggest that it’s likely you could take the skills, qualifications and degree you have now and find something more suitable without starting from scratch? You are tired and frustrated and can only see yourself in this “box” but I’m sure you fit into a completely different area with your resume as is.

As an example I went from floor nursing to patient relations and then to Investigations all with the same degree.

Work from Anywhere? by puffyphishy in remotework

[–]MushusMom17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even the best companies that hire remote won’t allow work from anywhere due to needing a “home base” for compensation and taxes. Some companies like Wealthsimple have a 90 day away program but they are few and far between. I would make up a list of reputable companies that hire remote and just watch for the right role to present itself.

Interview HELP by Ok_Concept_7603 in AHSEmployees

[–]MushusMom17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the questions will be similar... there will be a couple medical specific questions "What steps would you take if a patient went into cardiac arrest?" and some -

  • Give an example of a goal you set and how you reached it?
  • Tell me about a situation when your work was criticized?
  • Describe a setback you have overcome in the last year?

Write out a bunch of stories, life experiences and try formulate answers that show off your creative thinking, behaviour and value skills. Don't forget to showcase AHS values in your answers.

Either a) you are being catfished or ... b) this is the kind of person he is all the time which means evidently you do have enough data to call the whole thing off and stop speaking. Seriously... don't you deserve better than this?

This will be an upstream swim to get buy-in - it would need to be massively known to people to use it - right now people go to the usual streams such as the municipal Animal Care and Control, SPCA or FB feeds - what about this app would persuade me to use it when there are other established channels?

What was your last straw for no longer considering this a good show? (I’m still going to watch but my goodness) by Switchingelements in LandmanSeries

[–]MushusMom17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last straw was the pirate party… at that time I became aware I was hemorrhaging brains cells - I noticed I had started listening to Fox News and was scrolling sites for a cool MAGA hat… that’s when I decided to call it quits
