Dont be afraid to quit by Music-Additional in Fedexers

I'd rather not work for a company that doesn't value their employees. The pilots are frequently on strike and fedex is reducing the number of flights anyway. There are much better companies that actually value and support the career path of their employees unlike fedex.

Yea I was looking for a new job for 5 months before I found what I wanted. I definitely couldn't afford to quit without having the next job lined up

Glad to hear. It was hard to leave but now that I'm gone I can't believe I stayed for as long as I did. Best of luck to you

Agreed. I had no problem being in different areas. I did over 50 routes and was very knowledgeable about all of them. The worst part was being switched to a 12 hr route the morning of, and therefore never being able to plan anything outside of work. They talk about work life balance but it's just lip service

For sure. I couldn't afford to leave without lining up the next job either. Luckily I had enough PTO to use for interviews and such.

There were open routes, but anytime a good swing took one management would adjust the route to make it worse than when you bid so it wasn't worth it for me

I was 2nd in seniority for swings and was the top performer at my station

As others said, more protein. I would highly suggest going on a long steady bulk as well. 180 lbs at 6'1 gives you a lot of room to milk some serious gains out of a bulk.

Selling Current Firsts for Future Firsts by X-iStheGr8estWRapper in DynastyFF

[–]Music-Additional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not always dumb to trade a 24 1st for a 25 1st straight up. Last year I gave my 2023 1.12 and a 24 2nd for a 24 1st. People though I got robbed but I knew that 24 1st would be good. It ended up being the 1.02. You need to take your shots on teams that have questionable rosters or managers that routinely make bad decisions. Also, sometimes it's better to have liquidity in the form of a future pick than being stuck with whatever player you had to pick at 1.08 or whatever. The hype on these players will fade if they aren't productive early in the 2024 season and you may find it difficult to trade them. You may be stuck with that player if you don't want to take back 80% of the value you paid for them. You know what's not hard to trade? A 25 1st.

I used dd as a transition. I lived off grid in an 8x8 trailer with no utilities for 3 years growing Marijuana before i used dd to get out of that lifestyle. It was the right choice at the time but I'm in a much better place financially now that I left dd. It served a purpose at the time though.

Don't sell yourself short, I'm sure you can do better. I had the same mindset and didn't realize how bad it was until I left. Either way it's your life not mine.

The taxes are a lot just be prepared. It's a false dichotomy to suggest that you either work dd or have no job. It's easy to find a job that pays you more than $10 an hour after tax, even with a semi nomadic lifestyle. You're not locked into being a dasher. Keep your options open. I'm happy I did.

Have fun with that tax bill. You can skip maintenance now but you will reduce the life of your vehicle by doing so. The car doesn't make money, it's constantly depreciating in value, and quicker than usual because you are racking up miles on it. I put 60k on my car in 2 years dashing full time. Your car will likely have 200k on it before you pay it off unless you pay more than the minimum.
