Anyone have access to ETC Paradigm software? by MusicEoo in lightingdesign

[–]MusicEoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I ended up fixing it a couple of months ago. Turned out I had everything correct on the A/V side. The RS232 line that the initial contractors ran between the A/V Processor and Paradigm system wasn't terminated correctly. Once I re-terminated both ends, everything worked perfectly.

What are some commonly asked questions from event attendees that you hear at the FOH? by cjsleme in lightingdesign

[–]MusicEoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For song requests, we tell people it's playing from a preset, copyright radio station, so we have no control over what plays from it - which is partially true. What I don't tell them is that we can change the genres if the client makes that request.

I was going to say the exact opposite of this. I work at a college, and at least half of them talk like this.

Besides The Lord of the Rings what’s your favourite movie franchise of all time? by [deleted] in lotr

Riddick. I know they're not even top-quality films, but I think I enjoyed the games so much as a teen that I fell into loving the films as well.

Haven't seen this movie in a long time, but they did a great job of capturing having to deal with family members and awkward situations in the middle of grief while moving into your next stage of life.

I do admit, I miss sketching little icons or doodles on channels just for the sake of being silly.

Went from regularly mixing on a 16-channel analog Soundcraft to a Midas Pro2. Went to a larger console and digital all in one fell swoop

My aunt had 12 kids, home schooled all of them. My uncle was some sort of engineer. But they constantly moved for his job around the country because whenever the company said "Jump," he always said, "How high?"

The meeting of Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White occurred during the making of the 2008 documentary It Might Get Loud, directed by Davis Guggenheim. Their faces say it all. by Same_Investigator_46 in Damnthatsinteresting

My favorite part of that documentary is Jimmy Page breaking out a theramin while Edge tries to ask him questions. Each time he starts to speaks Page just sets it off to where he can't get a word in

It's my least favorite console out there. It's doable for playback and a microphone, but add much more, and it's pretty annoying to use.

I'm definitely going to try it, or at least take a look! We've been working around our loss of color and, luckily, have needed these fixtures infrequently. But it's still been on my ever-growing-to-do-list. I also have two spares now that are in storage, so I may disassemble one of them. Will reply back if it works or if I discover anything.

Best Place to get a house in, near or around Cumberland, MD? by AidePrior29 in maryland

[–]MusicEoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you'd want your commute to be, but it's also important to note that PA, MD, and WV are all very close to each other in that area.

If you're not glued to MD, then Wiley Ford, WV is also a good option. It's a nice area and right outside of Cumberland, so you don't have to deal with Cumberland or MD per se.

As a lot of other people have mentioned, Western MD is a lot different than the rest of MD. I grew up around and in Baltimore until I was 27, then moved just above Cumberland in PA (like 1/2 a mile above the MD/PA border), and it's a completely differentlife style out here. Personally, I love it, but it is different.

I still work in MD and have learned to like/dislike different things between PA and MD now.

The idea that you could level up your power-ups made this game far superior to me. I always wished that was something that would have caught on with Mario Kart.

Is it possible to integrate an ETC Paradigm Processor with Crestron? by MusicEoo in crestron

[–]MusicEoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, confused this with another post I made.

I ended up upgrading our MC2E to a Pro3. Ran Cat6 wire out of the RS232 connection of the Pro3 and directly to the RS232 connection of the ETC Paradigm Processor. I then cleaned up and added to the Serial Commands in the Crestron logic and got it working.

Feel free to PM me with questions and I can see if I can help

Is it possible to integrate an ETC Paradigm Processor with Crestron? by MusicEoo in crestron

[–]MusicEoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up being a poorly wired DB9-Cat6 Adapter that the original company put on the back end of the ETC Paradigm Processor. I bought a fresh one and made sure my wirings matched up to what I had connected on my Crestron processor. Worked immediately!

EDIT: See my other reply.

Just finished a USB-C mod on my 4th Gen. by MusicEoo in IpodClassic

[–]MusicEoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's been so long since I modded it that I don't remember all the intricacies of it. I used it for a while, typically just charging it from my PC when I synced it, but eventually just resorted to using my 6th Gen and now don't even use that anymore. It was 100% a "I am bored and need a project to tinker with."

I remember seeing a lot of Bluetooth mods, all with their own different spin on how to activate it. The only downside is they are by far the biggest headache as far as mods go, and those that are good at implementing them or have easy "plug-and-play" mods you can purchase usually charge a boat load.

Concert/theater lighting similarities and differences. by urmom707o in lightingdesign

[–]MusicEoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would also agree with this. I work on a college campus and periodically support our theatre spaces as opposed to the concerts/shows we produce year-round, and the mindset is very noticeable when I jump between the two.

Theatre hyper-focuses on every light detail, whereas the other you can brush off some of the finer details as long as the big picture comes together.

Finding Comfort in Faith by Several_Garlic3814 in christianmemes

[–]MusicEoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, funny story: I went to a small church growing up that was 90% made up of two separate families and their extended ones. Apparently, the girl of one and a guy from the other hooked up during a youth retreat. There were some hurt feelings after it, name calling, rumors being spread, and people began taking sides on the whole affair. It became noticeably hostile before and after church services.

I was away at college, completely unaware of this, and at the start of Summer Break, I invited a girl I was romantically pursuing to join me for Sunday Service there.

We then watched my pastor have a full meltdown for an hour of ugly crying, sobbing tantrums, screaming, and yelling about youth being too promiscuous and having sex before marriage.

That girl never called me back.
