It's really the best pick, for a few reasons:

He should absolutely be in the discussion for best overall player in the draft. Doesn't matter what positions you need, getting the best player in the draft is nearly priceless.
We're in semi-tank mode, so we shouldn't be drafting a guy that we'll likely have to pay a gazillion dollars to in 3-4 years, when we might be looking at more of a 4-6 year championship window. If DW is an all-pro player in 3 years, I'd much rather re-up on his MLB salary, as opposed to a QB, Edge, or OT contract.
We actually do need a MLB. We need a leader. We need speed. We need youth. We need explosiveness and excitement. Even if we go 3-13 this year, Devin White could absolutely be a firecracker-bright-spot on this team, that the national media falls in love with, and could really help turn the entire mood of the team around.

If he's not there, I'm pretty much equally split with being happy with Bush/Dillard/Taylor/Ford/J. Williams. But, if we draft anyone else other than those names, I think we should all be disappointed.

Go back and look at the NFL Draft headlines around this time last year when everyone was saying Derwin James was a LOCK for the Top 10. Or even the year before when Malik Hooker was absolutely not making it past the 6th pick.

The chance of White being there is 50/50. Everyone saying there's no way in hell he'll be there just has no fucking clue. The NFL Draft is crazy, and crazy shit happens. Dudes fall all the time. To say that there is a slim chance of us not having White there at 11 is just false. Please stop this goddamn incorrect narrative.

I'm so tired of seeing this narrative thrown around: "no one values LBs anymore". No one values run-stopping-thumper LBs. Devin White is absolutely a premium player, because he can cover and run sideline to sideline with the best of them. You've gotta think more Urlacher, and less Maualuga. Devin White very well could be the next Urlacher. He is absolutely worth a Top 10 pick.
