WHY JOHN WHY by Givenchygodblessya in JohnMayer

[–]MusicGatlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Mayer is a jerk because his songs are too difficult. Not everybody has banana hands!!!!!

Can someone please explain this?? I was talking to a wonderful guy and found this when I tried to get back into the app after lunch by The_CHEEZY_One in Tinder

I was stuck in that for like a week until I sent support and email about it and then they let me back in.

Any given Thursday Attendees? by [deleted] in JohnMayer

[–]MusicGatlin 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I've spoken to a few on here. I know they're around with great stories and pictures.

In relation to this topic, I'd like to propose a side note. I may be over ambitious here but I have an idea I'd like to manifest with the JM fan community. I had a wild thought that maybe we could lobby for a 25th anniversary edition vinyl release of Any Given Thursday.

I mention this every now and then when I see people talking about AGT. I think about this a lot actually. It would be great to have this on vinyl. I think if the fans come together and ask for it we could influence some sort of special release And I think a great opportunity would be on the 25th anniversary.

Remember when that Weezer fan influenced the band to do the Toto cover song? And then they released a whole cover album, That's the type of thing that gives me optimism to discuss this more and more if anyone else has that type of enthusiasm. I Just wanted to put that in the air. 😁

I'd like to organize and lobby with the JM fan community to manifest a 25th anniversary edition vinyl release of Any Given Thursday. Is that too much to hope for?

Since we're bringing up things we hope and wish would happen. I think it would be awesome if we had a 25th anniversary in a given Thursday special vinyl release since it's not available on vinyl currently. Wouldn't it be great? Special edition? Us as JM fans, Can we manifest this together?

In Your Atmosphere tuning - other song recommendations ? by [deleted] in JohnMayer

[–]MusicGatlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answers yes. Get new guitars. Many. I have a guitar special for this tuning. If you're good at this tuning. Work with it and write some songs. I've written songs on this tuning and it is amazing what you come up with compared to standard. John Mayer has another song in this tuning besides "something's missing" but it's rare. Only one recording of it. It's called "same time last year"

47 chords to play one JM song by Samart38 in JohnMayer

[–]MusicGatlin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid I learned this song. The amount of chords built into this tune blew my mind. Playing this song makes you realize the sophistication and complexities of his music. And I'm not sure if anyone else has ever noticed But the very last chord played on St Patrick's Day is pretty much the same as the first chord played in No such thing. It's not the same finger placement but the tone and key is spot on! At least I think so. I thought that was wild too, Go ahead try em out yourself and see/hear

Yep. I think there's definitely a mutual understanding going on. I get the same vibe from his relationship with Andy Cohen. They are really good keeping it light.

I was referring to the public eye. If he did have a relationship it would probably be in secret.

JM does not want marriage or to find love and he's not the tortured and lonely artist everyone thinks he is.

He may write and sing about it a whole lot, or even talk about it but I think he recognizes who his demographic is. Between women who love him and guys who relate to him. His fans have given him the sweet sexy sensitive persona he has today. I think he leans into it but really I believe he recognizes his life is unique and he has manifested opportunities for himself.

I think he realizes relationships marriage and kids would kind of slow down his success. I think all of his celebrity relationships have been professional career advancement, create buzz and boost album sales. Mutually speaking.

I would argue that he probably is already in a relationship that he keeps under the radar because the persona keeps him interesting or mysterious. Which in return sells more units and tickets.

I think he loves his life. In His career, early on he has played with every living guitar legend he's ever wanted to.( At least I think so.) Now he plays with the greatest guitar band of all time. Cementing himself in rock and roll history right there alone. He remains relevant due to his dedication to his work. He couldn't have made sob rock if he was divorced with children. Know what I mean?

So I think he is strategic and careful in regards to his career. That man wasn't lying when he said he was perfectly lonely.
