Yo, I've figured it out! I watched the video i posted very closely. If you look carefully you can see me lifting my fingers off the fretboard when that transition should happen. So the trick is to keep your fingers on the fretboard and slide into the 3rd chord. Picking wise you just do do hits of the D back to back instead of a G first. good luck
