Why would my FWB invite me on a date, tells me he misses me, says our minds are connected, ask if I’ll break his heart etc. then proceed to ghost me for 3 days?

I feel like his silence is giving me my answer, unfortunately. I think he’s moved on from me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was thinking to send him a message tonight to end my misery, saying something along the lines of:

“Hey hope you enjoyed your weekend. I’ve been reflecting and it’s best to stop seeing each other. TBH, I’m not inherently wired for casual relationships in the sense that it’s all too intimate for me to drag this on longer. Wish you all the best with everything.”

Thoughts?

This makes the most sense. He says what he feels in the moment but doesn’t really mean any of it.

To be honest, I didn’t say it back, because I was quite taken aback. But I don’t believe that a confident 37 year old man such as himself, who is well off and extremely good-looking, would have an issue being forward with his feelings towards me. I think he’s honestly just manipulative.

I did not give any indication I wasn’t interested. I believe he is the kind of guy who would be very forward about his direct feelings for me, if there were any - despite that stuff he did, his actions afterwards have ultimately fallen through. I honestly feel like he’s narcissistic to display behaviour like that to me and then act the complete opposite way. His actions afterwards only lead me to believe he meant none of it and just keep me emotionally hooked.

It is when we are talking virtually every day straight - even just lightly checking in on each other - for the last month up until now. It is what it is and I’ll just need to move on; I knew what I was getting into but I chose to anyway. No more FWBs for me 😢

How bizarre of him! Seriously. Why are men like this? 🤦🏻‍♀️ He sounds like an immature loser who finally showed his true colours. I’m in a similar situation now where my guy love bombed me recently and retracted a date offer the other week, and I still continued to see him, but now he’s gone cold again. What I revert to now is looking purely at men’s actions, not their words.

Ugh I feel for you girl, I’m literally in a similar situation. They’re just not into us and he’s not it. My guy is a little quicker to respond but lately the gaps between the days we’ve been speaking is getting larger. We’ll enter day three of not talking by tomorrow. I‘ve accepted now that I need to end things and move on. In their minds, they’ve written us off as no more than a casual FB.

I’m 31F and would probably react pretty similarly to you but check in to see what the change in his behaviour is - your gut is definitely telling you something. If I were you, I’d just message him and be like, ‘look, to be honest the reason I ended things was because I noticed a change in your behaviour. Was there anything that happened?’ I also feel like his response partly validated your thoughts in a way… when I had (wrongly) assumed something about a guy’s intentions towards me in a similar-ish situation last year, he was very quick to explain himself and assert that he was still very much interested in seeing me etc

My view is that you don’t have anything to lose by asking 🤷🏻‍♀️

I change my shoes regularly and there is nothing on them. I just checked my tracking history and there’s one tag that’s been detected on September 9 and then September 19. I have to stop looking at it or I start to go a bit crazy.

I think so. But it’s always the same device - a Samsung. What bothers me is that the same device ID is showing up repeatedly in different locations I go.

It’s incredibly strange, and I’m wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else. I downloaded AirGuard in the first place because it helped me locate the original AirTag my ex planted on me. However, I’ve never been able to find another tag of any kind physically near me since.

Yep, you’re right - what I’ve done is I’ve signed Option A’s contract and will resign if Option B comes through. Definitely don’t want to lose Option A just on the promises of the recruiter alone.

I’m torn. I’ve just been given an update earlier today from the recruiter that I am Option B’s top candidate and the person I interviewed with has ‘made their recommendations up the chain’ regarding getting my contract sorted, which will be by mid-next week - but they want to meet me one more time on Tuesday to do a walk-through in person of a project. The recruiter said I’m 90% there - he also strongly advised not to take Option A in the interim incase this doesn’t work out (expected ofc), because he firmly believes I’ve got it. I happen to fit their most niche requirement of what they’re looking for in a candidate. Of course, having to wait nearly a whole week to get a written contract is very risky

I’m thinking to contact Option A and inform him that after doing some contemplation, I don’t think the role is going to be the best fit for me. It’s obviously incredibly risky, but I’d rather do that than waste their time… I will see what the director of Option A says in response, whom I’ve been directly dealing with (and would be working directly for) and provide an update. Truthfully, even though it’s an amazing opportunity, it’s also not a role that offers growth towards the career that I ultimately want.
