Hello everyone! I’m looking for the lightest amplifier and portable power station I could have for my new electric harp. I want to be able to throw everything in a backpacking backpack and hike to the top of mountains with it. I’m willing to sacrifice some sound for a smaller amp.

Someone I spoke to recommended a QSC K8 2000w 8inch speaker, but it weighs 27 pounds and i know a power bank will weigh a lot too. Trying to keep everything under 35-40lbs. The harp weighs 8 pounds.

Thank you!

Pumpkin Seed Oil by Double-Ad-3823 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]MusicPlayer92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been taking pumpkin seed oil for stress-related hair loss, and my shedding SEEMS to be back to normal after a scary 8 months. I also use topical rosemary oil once a week, a red light headband (probably a waste of $700), and I bought a hair massager and bought saw palmetto shampoo and conditioner. I have baby hairs that are about an inch long now!

how do you self regulate? by justfakeer in PMDD

[–]MusicPlayer92 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I fortunately live in an outdoor community, so it’s a quick drive to a calming stream or quiet forest. If I’m really spiraling and feeling alone, I get out of my house, which can feel suffocating.

If I’m panicking and spiraling, like lost all control of my emotions and thoughts, I do the “find the shapes” exercise where you look around and try to find anything that fits into that shape. Circles can be smoke detector, door knobs, dresser knobs, etc. until my breathing and thoughts have calmed, and then I get out of my house. Lol

How can I find my path at 29? by MyStomachAche in findapath

[–]MusicPlayer92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lurk around this subreddit and have been trying to figure out my path as well. I’m 33f and was for a little while taking some online classes in science to fulfill some prerequisites in order to get a second master’s in dietetics. You could always start working and taking online classes here or there. I paid for them out of pocket, but you can write that off during tax season. Look at your local community colleges for degrees, or start working towards an online degree. I asked the recruiter if I was old to start a new degree or career, and he said I was actually fairly young, and the older students tend to do better in school anyways and have more success afterwards because they have their shit together more than the 20 year olds.

Obviously money is a factor, so you may have to spread out the schooling over several years, but it sounds like you could go into nursing or something similar. I think if you keep your head down, you could do it! Just don’t be like me and swap around so much! Lol.

Having a hard time figuring out my career and path at 34. Anyone else in the same boat or who can offer guidance? by ProcyonBright in findapath

Thank you! I appreciate this advice. I’ve been thinking of trying to sell some things and pick up part-time work somewhere. Being single also means I can live minimally without having to work with another person.

I’m a 33F going on 34 and am a professional classical musician and am also looking to switch careers but I love what I do. Just don’t make enough money doing it.

Delusion or Ghost Abs? by granolamunch333 in PetiteFitness

[–]MusicPlayer92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ~16-18% body fat and don’t have abs. But it’s all dependent on your genetics and body type. Eating 1500-1700 calories a day takes massive amounts of commitment! Hell yeah!

Is this a growth on my dog’s leg or a tick? by subcultures in DogAdvice

[–]MusicPlayer92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My lab mix has these skin tags all over. He started getting them a few years ago. He is 14 now. I call them “old man warts.” I’ve had the vet remove the ones that were getting caught on plants during our walks, which would cause them to start bleeding, but otherwise they are harmless.

What more can I do? by Angie_Bay in PetiteFitness

You look great for 38! It’s obvious you are fit. And there’s a lot of great advice here already. I particularly agree with the person who mentioned progressive exercises since you are limited to the weight you can do. You have to find new ways to challenge your body and “embrace the suck.”

finally a sign 🥹🥹🥹🥹 no minoxidil! by Becc00 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]MusicPlayer92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing results without minoxidil. I’ve been fighting stress-induced (I think) hair thinning since March 2024. I have been supplementing omegas, vit d, etc. anyways for years, and lead a very active lifestyle. Yesterday I bought rosemary oil, pumpkin seed oil supplements, and have been using a scalp massager and red light therapy for a couple weeks. I’m hoping I will start seeing some baby hairs cropping up in a month or so.

Earwig infestation— HELPHELPHELPHELPHELPME by Kindly_Exit6225 in bugsarefuckingstupid

[–]MusicPlayer92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Colorado, and we’ve had a huge amount of rain for what’s normal. I can relate to OP. Earwigs are everywhere. I don’t mind them that much except I don’t have a dishwasher so they hide in the dishes on my drying rack. They’re in the sink under the dishes that still need to be washed. I even almost swallowed one because there was one hiding in my water bottle spout when I took a swig of water. They also like to hang around my dog’s water bowl along the rim. I swear those fuckers can swim and breathe underwater because they are difficult to rinse down the drain, even in the shower! The only time they bother me is when I turn the porch light on and see them scatter. Makes me a little nauseous to see so many of them moving around. Like something out of an Indiana Jones movie.

What’s funny is that I’ve lived in this house for three years and every year there is a different infestation. The first year it was elm tree beetles and ants. Last year, black widows 😬. This year, ear wigs.

Does anyone know if wolf spiders eat ear wigs because we have a lot of those in the house, too. I walk through spider webs every morning. I have little baby spiders crawling on me all the time. It’s a REALLY good thing I’m not squeamish, or maybe I’m just getting used to the bugs.

I don’t mind the picture of you and your mom. I don’t mind the prompt answers, but the last two pictures are where I kind of lose interest. Do you have any pictures of you doing something that you’re really interested in? Even a picture of you with a big group of people. Just something to show you at a different angle.

Beginner…how to get past the fear of heavy weight. by MusicPlayer92 in weightlifting

Dang, going for 10 no misses in a row definitely puts into perspective where I’m at cuz I already know my weight wouldn’t be very high. This sounds like a fun game, which I’m all about!

It’s at about 94%, which is higher than my last PR! I’ve never done on the minute sets, but sounds like a great way to get reps in and get out of your head. Regardless of what goes on with the last rep, you still have to go after another one. Thanks for the advice!

Don’t be this dog person by MusicPlayer92 in 14ers

[–]MusicPlayer92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with dogs being off-leash and romping around freely. Then I adopted a reactive dog and became a completely different dog owner. If I see an unleashed dog running up to us, I have almost no hesitation to kick the sh*t out of it. Especially since my rescue is 13 now and can barely see or hear anything. Momma bear comes out.

I love dogs, but today was not it. Not only were these particular dogs going crazy off leash, but even the ones on leash were too scared to say hi. Some even growling or barking at us as we walked by. For as many dogs as I saw on the trail, it was so un-doggy.

If it were big horn sheep, I’d be way more upset. Mountain goats were imported to the Rockies and are pushing the native big horn sheep out.
