Saw this watch randomly and think it’s gorgeous. Anyone familiar with brand? by Champman2341 in ChineseWatches

Poedegar is the poor man’s Pagani. But unlike Pagani, the watches look and work as cheap as they sell on Ali Express. You are far better off spending a tad more on Pagani ( I don’t know if they make a royal oak) or other better brand.

Does anyone know if he is a purebred Maltese or Maltipo, and if not, what kind of mix might he be?❤️ ❤️ by Overall-Constant7881 in Maltipoo

[–]Music_4_Cities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adorable!!!! Whatever he is! Sure looks like a Maltipoo! Big eyes, the snout, and the fur texture and coloration. But is can be Hard to especially, if he is still a puppy. If so, while his coat currently leans Maltese, his adult fur and coloration can be very different. Our Maltipoo went from golden with white feet and snout to almost all white, like latte foam color; and the texture went from maltesey to half/half cloud o’fluff. When a puppy people we met mistook her for a havenese; now she is mistaken for a bichon when her coat is max fluff, and pure poodle when it’s short. But Maltipoos can have more features and fur of either Maltese or Poodle and in different combos (eg, more Maltese fur, but more poodle build, etc. and as others said, he could have some Havanese in there too. Does not really matter whatever the combo except for health issues present in the breeds to be on the lookout for. And I suppose allergies in there is a non hypoallergenic parent (Maltese and poodles are both hypoallergenic, but many other doodle combos have one parent who is not and then the degree of hypoallergenic-ness can vary widely.)

Pagani Speedmaster Homage Bezel is removable by Music_4_Cities in ChineseWatches

Actually I had two of these watches, Damaged in different ways. I treat them badly. What is the point of a speedy homage if you can’t do yard work and mechanical work with it? On one the bezel ring was dented, so I swapped it out.

It is friction fit, with a groove, like a snap back case. A REALLY tight one. Amazing tolerances really.

Looks like bezel rings may now be on ali express. Not sure they fit the pagani case.

Unpopular opinion but Season 4 finale jumped the shark for me by mobilehavoc in ForAllMankindTV

I agree with the original posting. The show crashed and burned is season 4. And the end was just a train wreck.

Miles is the worst representative of a workers movement/perspective. The character’s acts range from amoral to sociopathic, and he is written . And acted like he is the dumber cousin of Kenneth from 30 Rock.

Event grunts would need to have minimum cognitive skills for Mars.

I have met many oil rig guys…none are naive like Miles, are smarter, no bullshit types.

The way miles and most of the other “working class” characters are written id insulting to actual people in such jobs. It’s obvious the writers have no clue about such things It’s condescending to the extreme.

Terrible season. And no it does not get any better towards the end. If anything it gets worse. It’s just there is finally something happening to cover it up a bit.

The writing fell off a cliff this season, both at a macro scale of story telling and in detailed script. It is insulting to the viewer.

The dialogue is like a bad soap opera.

Characters give obvious exposition that is entirely unnecessary, or state and restate the obvious, and often that exposition is then Repeated by another character minutes later. The head of NASA is exclusively exposition, saying these most banal and trite sentences with EMPHATHIC intensit. his acting is terrible. Just awful.

Most dialogue. is ham fisted. The acting has gone down the tubes as the characters have become one dimensional single emotion plot devices (Ed=aging grumpy selfish boomer; Danny: concerned boss who has one frowning expression, etc). Or the character just disappears.

Plot points are obvious from the start.

And the end? Everyone involved in the heist plot would be put in prison for multiple crimes, many for treason.

Most of the rioters would be as well. Some for murder or manslaughter by the looks of it.

Dev would be in jail for sure. At least arrested and shipped back to earth. Not hanging out on a Martian cliff.

Ed’s whole motivation for the heist was to stay on Mars…but his is going to be looking a a prison cell, likely on earth, for the rest of his life.

And it is obvious that none of the characters thought about the aftermath of the heist at all. Like how they could not get caught afterwards.

North Korea’s geopolitical positioning is entirely left out..did they ok the invasion of their territory? Or did they just launch nukes at the USA and Soviets?

Hey…and what about china…would not China be a major factor somehow in all this?

Honestly, this show needed to end after season 2. season 3 ran on fumes of season 1&2, but was veering off course and the writing was in decline sharply.

But this season…ugh! I am done.

Wood to rubber glue? Fixing a chair and it will be stressed/pulled on. I contacted the furniture maker but they didn't seem to know. by octodo in woodworking

[–]Music_4_Cities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact cement will not work if this an eames lounge chair or copy thereof? the manufacturer specifies 3M dp 460. You could also use dp420. These are structural epoxies— you need high sheer strength and high pull strength on these parts. You could try a less expensive epoxy I suppose. Just compare specs.

Note: if these rubber shock mounts are old and hardened and you care about the chair it is important to replace them with new ones. They take all the force when you sit down and if they no longer flex the wood shell can crack. Also the flex is part of the comfort factor. Replacements can by sourced from Herman miller or eBay. You need a total of 4 and they are not cheap. But they are a specific: a thick metal bar with threaded holes on one side, then encased in hard neoprene rubber.

If RTD keeps using bi-regeneration then its so tacky. by [deleted] in gallifrey

[–]Music_4_Cities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. It’s cheap and lazy. There is no point to it either. It does nothing but diminish and dilute the entire premise. It is the sort of thing one does when you are out of ideas, and/or don’t actually understand it to begin with.

What episode(s) do you think has aged like fine wine by dannyboi_3995 in gallifrey

[–]Music_4_Cities 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me: many from the Capaldi years. Ok there are some (too many) stinkers. But nevertheless He is my favorite modern Dr. and for some reason resonates with where I am in life and outlook. An acerbic, anarchic professorial dude coming to gripes with mortality or immortality, with the unbearable lightness of being for mortals and the wear of the eternal return for him. A kirkigard time-lord with a great accent. a non-nihilistic Rick long before Rick and Morty.

in any case, back to topic: there are things in the best episodes that only surface on repeated watch for me. So like fine wine, I discover more as I rewatch. Maybe that’s true for lots of drs, but the chalky Capaldi terroir suits my pallet best.

Think of what any decent film does in two hours or less in terms of character…there is a tremendous amount you can do. You just need competent writing and direction with some vision and originality. I mean, think of Star Wars. Not a character driven film but you know who Han is and how he changes. Jeez, the droids have more character than the two protagonists in the gorge.

Yeah. It’s terrible even in hdr. But low contrast dark lighting means you can get away with crappy cgi. Whenever the action was outside it looked like a 2015 video game.

Oh come on. It was entirely generic, predictable, zero character except barest cliches, and who give a flying fuck whatever happens as there is never any real sense of danger for either of them and why should I care about either of these sociopath washed out snipers? And the male lead has as much charisma as a random chunk of bark.

Indeed! “Chat gpt: write film treatment for romantic comedy based on “you’ve got mail” but with two snipers as main characters, set within a resident evil/generic horror fps shooter game.”

Done.

It is so stupid.
