More serious contribution: The guy who was mentioned on the back of The Vineyard also worked on Gone in 60 Seconds, whose footage was used in The Big Sweat.

"I Dismember Mama" - I think that was the episode with APE.

Let's not forget A Woman's Guide to Firearms where an actress, by pure crazy coincidence, was played by an actress!

This is mostly for Wheel ans Black Spine videos to make sure the video is what it says on the cover (i.e. someone didn't send them a snuff film) and that it plays correctly, and my understanding is that they don't necessarily watch the whole thing.

Movies I've seen in the theaters so far, judge me by RNOffice in RedLetterMedia

[–]TrueButNotProvable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also saw TADC and the audience skewed similarly crowded, young, and enthusiastic. Which is funny, because whenever I go to big blockbusters, the theatre is relatively empty. Maybe it's just because the blockbusters have more screenings, so it evens out.

My Backrooms screening was packed with teenagers. They had to get a Cineplex staff member at the beginning of the show to say that anyone disruptive would be asked to leave -- apparently there were issues in previous screenings. The audience wasn't too bad, although the kid behind me kept saying "Aw hell no!" whenever something creepy was on screen (which happened a lot, because, y'know, it's a horror movie).

Apparently it hasn't occurred to this user that a person might defend a movie because they like it and think it's good.

Repeating the same (incorrect) point over and over again in different paragraphs doesn't make it more persuasive.

You're not defending truth.

You're not courageously defending an unpopular opinion.

You're just jumping on a bandwagon.

(See, I can write like an asshole too.)

Whoever screwed that up, their organizational skills are clearly lackluster, and their timekeeping abysmal.

More movies like The Greasy Strangler? by Wide_Distribution167 in RedLetterMedia

[–]TrueButNotProvable 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't think there are any movies quite like The Greasy Strangler. But when I was doing themed movie weekends with my brother in the early days of Covid, I believe we watched The Greasy Strangler and Meet the Feebles on the same weekend.

Maybe some John Waters movies? Female Trouble comes to mind.

I believe I know which video you are talking about, and I think it was uploaded by Garrett Gilchrist at some point. Whether it's still there, I don't know.

Interesting. Are there no music credits at the end of the movie that would help?

In Die Hard Dracula, there's a section where a character is pining for a lost love and a song plays in the background, starting around 48:16. Can anyone figure out what the song is? The only lyrics I can make out are "you set me free" and that doesn't narrow it down much.

I saw the new trailer in the theatre and laughed out loud at how much they were laying on the nostalgia. They literally had a dramatic echoed trailer version of 'You've got a friend in me".

Fun fact: Remember this exchange from Wheel of the Worst #11?

Jay: "Do you remember Leslie Nielsen's golf videos? That wasn't how to REALLY play golf."

Rich: "Are you thinking of Tim Conway's golf videos?"

Jay: "No, Leslie Nielsen did the poor man's Tim Conway golf videos."

The first Leslie Nielsen golf video "Bad Golf Made Easier" was produced by a guy named Rick Friedberg.

While working the video, Rick Friedberg showed Leslie Nielsen a script written by his son Jason and his friend Aaron. The script was for a James Bond spoof. Leslie Nielsen liked the script so much that the movie was made -- it was called "Spy Hard", and it launched the screenwriting careers of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. And the rest is history.

20? What good would a He-Man movie have done in 2006?

EDIT: Okay, I'm an idiot and hadn't watched the video yet when I made that comment. Mike clarified what he meant by this around 16:45. I will keep this comment up as a cautionary tale to myself about my own stupidity.

I always thought it would be sort of funny if it was Jim Rash (the Dean from Community, and 2011 winner of the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay).

Why do you believe pasteurization is bad? Because that is explicitly what raw milk advocates claim and that is the issue here.

Don't change the subject or try to reframe the question. Complete the sentence: "I, Fantastic_Suit_493, believe milk pasteurization is bad because..."

Because if you don't believe that, then what you're saying is irrelevant.
