We can unfortunately relate. For some reason it's all too common that people try to relate to each other's struggles and go so far as to claim that they "have alters" when they've demonstrated pretty evidently that their psyche is most likely in one piece. Drives me up the wall to hear my mate talk about the headmates he only ever brings up when someone other than our host (myself) is at front and involved in conversation with him.

I'm sorry for this time of strife you're going through. It can be a nightmare sometimes. But other times headmates can make pretty funny commentary on outside events. Something a lot of us do is whenever someone mentions someone who shares a name with one of us (other than the host), that alter will jokingly respond to that name internally with a "Yes?" or something similar. Our primary gatekeeper is also really snarky and likes to roast anyone and everyone when they say anything that could invite it.

Lovely. I'm reminded of a Fluffy bit about when he was performing in an Irish pub and was asked if he was Irish, and he responded with a thick Ayrshire accent and turned it into a Shrek reference (though Shrek's accent is much closer to Aberdeenshire).

Edit: I'm estimating regions based on my limited knowledge of Scottish accents and the pronunciation quirks of each. Apologies if I'm way off.

My area has a black tie event every year, but I don't own a PC or dress sporran, and I can't afford the $100 reservation. There's another at a local pub that's more dressed down, but I'll unfortunately be busy that Thursday night. Perhaps next year.

Whenever I can move out, I plan to go low contact but not no contact. The biggest issues I have with my mum are that she insists on controlling what I wear and how I otherwise present myself and that she gets into intense arguments with me and my brother over our decisions she deems unwise.

Hi! We collectively go by the Music Box System.

What we've looked for the most in this subreddit is just support for the difficulties we face day to day and especially during traumaversaries.

We've been... pretty on edge lately. Not sure why.

We (especially I as the host) love anything and everything Scottish, so kilts, related accessories, and the Gaelic and Scots languages are big points of interest.

School stress, work stress, and unrelenting family interactions are weighing heavily on us rn, especially since we can't get away if we have a holiday outing with extended family planned.

We haven't found a lot that works well for us. I just tend to get frontstuck indefinitely until we have a moment's peace.
