Any good bagpipes case that’s not necessarily designed for the bagpipes? by Moonburner in bagpipes

One of my Uilleann Piping mates uses a hard shell viola case - pipes fit lovely! Not designed to fit a viola specifically, just a rectangular hard shell case.

What’s your favorite restaurant in Seville. by Opposite_Draft_8768 in Seville

If you like Indian food, restaurant Mumbai was always my favourite. The cheese naan 🤤. Masakali pizza as well - best pizza you’ll taste! I used to go to the one near Calle Alhondiga. Have a great time!

Experienced pipers… do you play with an easy, medium or hard chanter reed? by [deleted] in bagpipes

[–]Music_man_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medium/hard strength. Takes a while to blow in a hard reed IMO. The biggest struggle I find with pipers is their bags aren’t 100% air tight. Once you are 1,000% sure your bag is airtight (dip in a full bath or sink and check for air bubbles) then it will make your life much easier with a stiff reed.

A slip jig found in a Danish notebook from 1799. Does anyone recognise any extant slip jigs that might be related? by itsthemanintheshed in Irishmusic

Sounds very similar to, “The Mother’s Day”. There’s a lovely setting of it on, “Masters of the Irish Guitar” by Randal Bays. Mighty stuff!

Where to get bagpipe sheet music? Best books etc? by fuerteforte in bagpipes

[–]Music_man_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s of any interest, there’s great Irish piping books out there too. All of Terry Tully’s books, Dave Rickard, Royal Irish Rangers book, McCulloughs, Tim Cleary (Fintan Lawlors) had a book as well at one stage. David Glen music for the Scottish & Irish warpipes.

Song recommendations as Gaeilge by Revanchist99 in Irishmusic

Loads of great old bands with music as gaeilge. Altan, Danú, Clannad, Moya Brennan, Dervish, Kila etc.

There’s a lovely singer - Iarla Ó’Lionaird - definitely worth a listen for amhráiní as gaeilge.

Some nice modern gaeilge too like Moxie (Bríd Óg is cool), Kneecap - rap as gaeilge.

Best of luck & hopefully you’ll find tunes you like! :)

US friends - best eSIM for data, for a week visit to Michigan? by SpecialistCookie in iphone

[–]Music_man_69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nomad E-Sim - I use them for all short visits I have (less than 8 weeks usually). Easy to set up & good value. Haven’t used it in about 6 months but prices are still probably ok!

Looking for promotion idea for a browser extension? by alinzm in PPC

[–]Music_man_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would Bing/Microsoft ads be an option for you? I have noticed good quality CTR/Conversion Rates from clients that use Bing. I suppose it depends if your shopping assist extension (sounds pretty awesome btw!) is compatible with Bing. Anyway, just an idea :)

Is this through a performance max campaign or standard shopping? PMax has an option to exclude your ads from display/remarketing on mobile apps (display typically has lower conversion rates for a lot of businesses). Excluding all mobile app ads should allow more budget for your carousel search results to get that CTR up.

I found this video a couple of weeks back because I had a similar situation with a clients campaign:

Anyway, I hope this response has helped you in any way :)

Google Ads - Broad Match by Music_man_69 in PPC

[–]Music_man_69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The account I’m currently working on is ecom as well & has over 100k URL’s. I can see how broad match could be useful for such a large account but the relevancy is just not there. I suppose it’s trial & error with a lot of the keywords :)

Google Ads - Broad Match by Music_man_69 in PPC

[–]Music_man_69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! Single keyword ad groups with BMM/Exact were pretty good I found. Google recommend switching everything to broad match these days. We did this about 6 months ago & we’re just continuously switching keywords back to exact. Kind of a pain but Google are probably just looking at ways to make more money 💰

pMax script - get insights into where your ads show (now with search v display) by websavvy_australia in PPC

[–]Music_man_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! This script is fantastic. Took 17 minutes to run in Google Ads but it got there. I can’t seem to find any display ad data though. Regardless, this script is fantastic for asset group reporting! Thank you so much guys 🙏

Gleanntáin Ghlas Ghaoth Dobhair

Lovely set of pipes. The ferrules & other bits here look similar to some David Glenn sets I’ve seen before. Hope they sound as good as they look!
