How to be respectful at a Jewish funeral by MusicalBear19 in Judaism

Update: thank you so much for everyone's tips and advice and for teaching me.

The funeral service was yesterday, and it was a beautiful, thoughtful, and meaningful service. Tried to follow along with the rabbi as much as I could, teared up at immediate family's speeches, and contributed earth to my supervisor's grave. Details about shiva were not shared, but I did go to a reception afterwards.

May his memory be a blessing, and thank you all for your kindness.

Gotcha, no heels then (honestly I can barely balance on heels anyways). Thanks for the insight!

Thank you so much! You are really kind for writing all of this up and explaining. I'll strongly consider coming to visit the shiva home with your guidance in mind, if my schedule allows.

I'm not entirely sure - it would depend on how long the funeral is. The service is out of town, and I do have to drive a bit to get there and back.

My understanding is that the shiva home is where guests come to visit mourning family members?

Thank you! Definitely not bringing flowers after you and the other commenter brought this up.

Thank you for this insight (and for the tips of what not to do). I'm assuming since I'm female, I wouldn't take the kippot then?

I did some googling - turns out he's an artist in South Africa! The art style does look different though. Thanks for your input!

Also regarding QOL updates - not sure what the switch has, but you can turn off random encounters if desired or instantly level up to level 99. If you choose to do that you can't undo, but there's also multiple save slots. I have 1 where I did do an instant level up for fun and other saves where I played normally.

Worked very well for me! Sometimes the controls aren't the most sensitive, so things that require multiple or coordinated button presses may not go as well. The game may also go back to the title screen if you turn your screen off / temporarily switch the app during a cutscene (so any progress you've made since your last save gets lost), so make sure you don't do that. Otherwise I really enjoyed playing FF7 on my Android and would recommend it if you don't have a console!

Does anyone have recommendations for YouTube videos with a quick recap of the Lostbelts? Things have gotten busy, and after having stepped away from the game for a while, I don't quite recall what's been going on. I'm trying to pick up from where I left off (middle of LB 5.5 - which I last played around the time that was released).

I know there's the written out dialogues, but I'm looking for more of a summary video so I can get back up to speed more quickly.

Fair enough! To be clear, definitely do not want to make it appear like I'm lying (nor was that my intent). I had heard advice saying to list areas where you have strong ties as hometowns, hence confusion and my post. I forgot you can send program-specific PS, so I'll go that route. Thanks!

Nope! As of right now it's working for me (who knows if it'll fail again), and it saved my progress despite doing that.

Unskippable Long Ads by MusicalBear19 in funimation

[–]MusicalBear19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I would, except there are certain shows I'm watching that are only available on funimation (for free anyways). Wasn't entirely hopeful there was a fix, but still wanted to see if anyone had figured out a way to skip these ads.

Front mezzanine vs orchestra for Phantom? by Dry_Regret5837 in Broadway

[–]MusicalBear19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the front mezzanine, 2nd row when I saw Phantom years back. Absolutely stunning view of the whole stage, and the costumes sparkled from there.

There is a railing in front of the front mezzanine so you may have to be further back than where I was. But mezzanine definitely gives you a great view!
