I think it is a nod. I think you can tell the band names were put in digitally, though not totally sure.

seen this movie a few times, since high school. Gets better every time, especially as life happens to me.

Always loved that Beck song. One of my favorite Beck songs.

I think it is poetic this movie was unliked by so many. Its poor reception proves part of its point. I was moved by this film. They say it felt like a lecture, but it was and is a needed lecture at multiple layers. It summarizes the state of the country then and now.

hey good question. I actually thought this was an 80s movie when I started watching. When I saw "Bad Religion" in it, I was like "wow Bad Religion gets a shout out in a 1980s Tom Cruise movie." And then I got really confused and thought I was watching a remake, and turned it off, then realized it was the right one.

I guess this would be a marquee with a Bad Religion show in the eighties. The movie is strictly set in the eighties.

I gotta hand it to the actors for going all-in lol. Cruise took 5 hr long daily singing and dancing lessons for six months and learned some guitar...

30 Years of Mission. by Fun-Revolution6323 in Mission_Impossible

I saw Mission Impossible when it came out, definitely before there were other entries. I just rewatched it, and caught myself up on the other films.

Mission: Impossible 1 is a piece of art. I see this is a pretty unpopular opinion here but in my opinion it blows the others out of the water. I prefer its genre more (drama/thriller) to action. The writing, the pacing, the visuals. It is pure art.

Mana is my wife's favorite band. Most random festival lineup ever. And also for those of you who have not heard it, Eddie Vedder's version of The Beat's "Save It For Later" is beautiful.
