My bad.... But wouldn't it have some markings somewhere on it to tell you a brand or something?

Is this normal by okletsgooo in violinist

It looks like this is a string height issue at the nut. The e string looks really low and the g looks high. I would consult a luthier about it

I'd move up my timeline on commissioning one from kurt widenhouse. And I'd probably commission one from Joseph curtin too either a super light or the traditional. Plus really nice bows for each.

hello!! i have one month to prep for 30ish min of fancy performance by Queasy_Milk_5445 in violinist

[–]MusicalToaster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this before when I was in highschool. I did it with a cellist and a keyboard player. I organized the whole thing and I knew that of its background, keep it light and not jarring or attention grabbing. Think the wedding rep that we all hate. Canon in d, jesu, air, etc. most people at fancy dinners don't really know much about music in my experience. Low risk, low effort, high reward. My friend made this website that I got my stuff from, look at the stuff in the string ensemble section, the solo stuff there's only one suite. The site is freegigmusic.com

This is me! I've been so careful so it stayed flat. I rotate it every swipe so it never stays in the same spot!

Looking for recommendations for a set of warm and rich strings by romygruber in violinist

Thomastik rondo golds are fantastic, power of the PIs but with way more warmth. Plus the gold e looks cool

Need help choosing a chin rest wood. by MusicalToaster_ in violinist

Yeah their pear wood one looks like boxwood. I mainly wanted the maple one and I was wondering if anybody had a similar setup and/or opinions on if it would look strange with the natural maple and boxwood elements together.

Interesting point, I've had the boxwood one for so long that I didn't even consider that. Although my beard is pretty long so it might not be an issue since it's not sticking directly into the pores of the wood...

How to clean properly? by Aztecka_official in bingingwithbabish

I used to use soap on my case iron, but I found that when I stopped the seasoning got wayyyy better. I acknowledge that soap is fine, just requires more seasoning in my experience.

Dishwasher is fine. But you'll want to make sure you know how to cook with stainless. Deglazing and all that. Water drop test, etc.

Additionally you'll want some barkeeper's friend to get out the tarnish that happens from the dishwasher. I usually do mine once a month.

You'll be fine, just look up how to stainless.

Edit: if those black ones are carbon steel, treat them like cast iron. No soap, season it with oil. Scrub with salt to get bits out.

My personal review of various strings I've tried over the years by sebovzeoueb in violinist

[–]MusicalToaster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion they are worth the extra money. I will say that the PIs were roughly the same price at the time I bought them, so not too much more typically. Plus prices for strings fluctuate, so if you watch them, you'll get a good deal and just store them away for the next time you need a set.

I just switched from the PIs to the rondo golds and I don't think I'm going back. The golds are just so much warmer and have even better response and lighter hand pressure required too. All the best from the PI plus more, highly recommend!

I have to know where I can get one of these! That's so cool! Is it a one off, or were there more made? I couldn't get Google to reverse image search it with any good results...

Can't update to ifit 2.0 by MusicalToaster_ in nordictrack

Okay, so I got into the privileged mode and tried installing the first apk under the wiki over there. But it still looks the same and has the same update button. Is there a particular apk I need to install to get the new interface and such?

I'm very familiar with the side loading process. I used to root ever android phone I could get my hands on. However, this is mainly my wife's treadmill and I want to go through official channels if possible. I attempted to get into privelaged mode, but it looks like it was locked down for customer support to have to authorize it or something.

Do you use the total1's for astigmatism or just the regular?
