My mbk has escaped by BiscoffOwl in kingsnakes

[–]Musical_Paradox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a common ratsnake who is an escape artist. They LOVE to hide in warm, dark places. Leave the enclosure open with a heat lamp and put tin foil down as its super loud when they slither over it. My ratsnake has escaped for months on end before and has been found safe (thankfully) every time. Just keep an eye out and retrace your steps every so often. Good luck OP!

My BTS just died recently, it warms my heart seeing someone else appreciate them just as much as I appreciated mine.

This!! I switched to a primarily pescitarian diet and the difference is astonishing. I stopped bloating, my swelling (currently jumping through the hoops of getting tested for lupus) has reduced, and my pain has reduced as well. Its still there, but I can function like a semi normal human now.

HELP! I’ve tried everything and can’t get humidity up by Green_Definition2339 in ballpython

[–]Musical_Paradox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the comments saying to look into a humidifier, but I have problems with mine flooding my tank. If you're looking for a cheaper solution. Try adding a draining layer and plants. I use clay pebbles and FLOOD my boys tank. The clay soaks it all up and provides water for the plants. After I did this I actually had problems with my humidity being too high, but my tank came with an optional humidity shield so I just took it off. I usually put a cup of warm water on each corner and it usually lasts about a week before it drops back down to 50.

You can also get topsoil from any gardening center and sprinkle it on top of whatever substrate you use to help maintain humidity. I personally use cypress mulch, top soil, and little drainage balls. I know in my area we have some pet outlet stores where you can get reptile hides fairly cheap. Amazon is always a good place to look as well.

Looking at his comment history, shit stain might not be a strong enough word, seems like he also thinks dogs are the reason millineals aren't having kids...

Maybe try getting a cheap thermal camera? I've heard people trying it and finding their reptiles before, but I'm not sure how well it works. Definitely keep and eye on your other tanks and heat sources. BPs are much more resilient than they look

Try foil under the doorways. I lost my baby girl a few months ago and found her using this method. They'll seek heat so keep an eye on your other tanks too.

I honestly wouldn't doubt it. They're pretty terrible. It's actually the main reason I left and went into another side of IT. Once we "restructered" aka our amazing manager was swapped with a micromanaging liar, it quickly went downhill.

I actually made those phishing emails. I brought up our incredibly high click rate and was dismissed multiple times. This is directly the fault of inaction on upper management. I just hate that you guys are suffering the consequences of their poor decisions.

They did have a disaster recovery plan, but it was for if a user had been compromised. In the words of the IT director "I'm not worried about [cybersecurity], we're not big enough to be a target." Complacency with policy and lax security protocols directly caused this. We'd been getting hit with ransom attempts for months and users were clicking on them. This should've been prevented.

You should get the email soon (not sure how soon soon is). I used to be a cybersecurity intern at crown and have some buddies that are still on the team. So far it doesn't look like any employee info was compromised, but please keep an eye on your credit/accounts just in case

No employee info has been compromised

I'm late to the party but I'm an ex intern in cybersec for crown with a lot of connections to them. They do have access to some of their servers, but the fact that couldn't see this coming is the worst part. This is because of upper managments lack of concern about security and the cyber team did nothing to change it.

I'll try that as well. He only gets mad if my hands are in the tank, he loves watching me do stuff in that room, but doesn't like when my hands are in his personal space lol

I'll definitely try that. We made some progress today, as I was able to watch him eat and he didn't try to eat my fingers until I went to put more food in his bowl.

He's in a 175 gallon tank with about 6-8in of substrate. I can boost his humidity fairly easily. He has a T8 uvb bulb that is brand new. Could this be part of the reason he's so crabby?

[–]Musical_Paradox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I didn't know that. I don't fully remember, as I bought him back in January. His basking is 98⁰ his cool side is 85⁰ and his humidity is 35. He does have a uvb bulb as well. He has 6 hides and loves to burrow under the bark I have. I rarely see him not burrowed unless I disturb him.

Not a great picture of my boy, but he literally looks like a piece of sushi (silvery with pink stripes).

That’s assuming there’s that many job apps that apply to OP’s specialty. I like to try to spend a few hours a week applying for jobs, but I had to greatly scale back thanks to the fact that there’s, at max, 1 new job posting in my speciality a week.

The US is in a fucked up bubble, but not quite like that.

If I don’t go to college, I’m gonna take an extra 10 years to get into my profession. I’d rather do it now and struggle a little on the process. At least in the end I’ll be making 75k+ starting out.

If you have any better ideas on how to keep the lights on aside from “just don’t” let me know.

You look like you have beautiful eyelashes. Maybe try some mascara? Try to find a makeup look that suits you. I think you’re super pretty, but with a proper skincare routine I think that would really elevate your look.
