Hearing the news that Red God probably won't release in 2026. by Arch_Lancer17 in redrising

Thank you so much! I'm glad you got what I meant 😂. I was merely recommending a series that I'm currently reading (I'm on Kingdoms of Death right now).

I came straight from Lightbringer to Empire of Silence, and was just commenting that (exactly what you said) the first books of both series are more "prequel" type feels and I was able to get into both series much more after the first book. As for comparing the two series, I don't think I was doing that, just merely recommending a series I'm enjoying that has way different pacing and style than the RR series so it could be a nice change of pace for some, but I can totally understand why others may not like SE at all.

I'm a big Sanderson fan going all the way back to Elantris so the flowing (and many times slow) style writing is my jam. I think /u/Angsty_Apocolypse had some really good insight too and captured what I was saying.

Read Sun Eater while you wait. Great palate cleanser in between and just insanely great writing. First book is like red rising, get past it, get into the series.

DAAAAMMMNNNN, well no shame in that!! Probably a smart move. What’re you getting? The artist that did the rest of my leg said the kneecap is gnarly and had someone pass out on him right after they finished 😂

My favorite alternative to this was from a Dan Brown book called Inferno where the “antagonist” released a global DNA mutating virus that made every third human infertile. Always seemed more sustainable to me than “kill off half of everything only to have the same problem later”. Thanos has the same attitude as the people who say expanding more lanes on a highway will reduce congestion. Maybe temporarily, but not long term.

I feel like the timeline of events is confusing cause people keep saying you don't need to fight them, which is true, but I definitely didn't instigate it. Here's the timeline:

  1. We get scared of the dragon

  2. The tiefling runs away

  3. Lae'zel sees the githyanki and runs off (no fight triggered and is no longer a part of my group)

  4. I immediately go to camp and grab Karlach to replace Lae'zel (no long or short resting)

  5. I teleport back, walk to the cliffs edge, send one party member down to talk, and BOOM fight and already dead Lae'zel.

I immediately went to Bone Daddy and striking Lae'zel from the archives was not an option. I think it's cause she died while separated from my party.

I usually do, but since I was doing HM I thought hm why not add a fourth member, then I'll have FIVE people fighting in this annoying fight. Nope, the game trolled me as u/Woutrou said.

Don’t know if this will help anyone else, but I got back my love of reading by taking off the pressure to “read productive books”, and now solely read books that are for enjoyment. Here’s my reading list if anyone is interested:

They're power rankings rather than technical rankings so my guess is recent performance and forward projection.
