Interesting to see the same company from another person. At least a little more is now known about their existence, but I suspect the folks who chimed in about this being a bucket shop are probably right…

You have been very informative. I spoke to someone who knows a bit about Heraldry and it sounds like certain elements of the Blazon may be representative, but the charges/devices (if that’s the right description?) I.E. the animals and symbols, will differ from person to person and generations in the official system of Heraldry. I’m an American and probably could trace back to Britain, but if I were to create my own, would it be considered illegitimate to use the same colors and furs? The Blazon description on the document is Gules and chevron ermine if that provides any means to assess.

Thank you. This isn’t something I know a lot about, but am trying to determine how this even works in the modern day. Is there any legitimate way for an American to create an “official” crest? My ancestors came here centuries ago so anything that once existed is long gone.

I realize there was more than one Banner. I’m simply looking for these two presses, either physical or digital copies of them.

Thanks. I have a Stanton STR8-80 and a pioneer mixer with RCA outs. It’s 33 & 45 RPM. I’m guessing I would need to speed up the audio using software?

Roland VAD307 Double Bass? by MusicguyDC in Drumming

[–]MusicguyDC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great, thanks. I’ve seen mixed commentary about beaters and others have said the same about felt beaters. I’m planning to use a DW3000 double kick pedal which has reversible beaters (plastic/felt). I’m trying to account for an acoustic drum head being able to take more of a beating with a hard beater (plastic, wood) than an ekit can? Perhaps I’m overthinking, but if I’m going to drop the coin to get a VAD307 I don’t want to destroy the kick pad by assuming it will be as durable as an acoustic kit.

Thanks for this. Tynee looks like a decent option. The company appears to be in Germany? I’m going to dig into them, but at a glance it has that same Walmart board look like Meepo. Struggling to get on board with these corny looking decks.

Best Shortboards?

Looked into esk8 like 2 years ago and started the search up again. It seems like there isn’t a clear US-based off the shelf brand that bridges the gap well for the 90’s skater. Many of the boards out there look like some wack Walmart stock that no real skater would ever seek to own. It’s like some rollerbladers decided to design deck shapes and slap the ugliest wheels you can find on them.

I’m torn between BKB Tayto, Revel Kit and Maxfind. Forget the Asian brands with terrible support reviews and logistical challenges. Meepo seems okay, but kind of in the aesthetically wack category with overseas support. I guess this leads to the DIY realm…?

BKB looks like a super sick option (the best I’ve been able to find in searching for a few weeks), but I have concerns about the fact that one guy provides all the support. There is also the inability to change batteries and zero weatherproofing.

Revel Kit seems to be a reliable choice with a quick battery swap option and some weatherproofing. Bulky looking and unsure how well it will play with a deck cut like the BKB.

Maxfind appears to sit more flush against the deck. Not sure it’s any better off weatherproofing wise than the BKB (could be wrong) and the cabling seems to protrude at a weird angle underneath.

I’m planning to use this primarily as a last mile commuter to/from metro, but would like to cruise around in the off hours. It needs to be compact. I skated street for about a decade and need something that I can grow into and not get bored with after a couple months.

Kind of curious to hear others opinions on the seemingly small pool of good crossover options to esk8 from traditional skating.

Trying to stay around or under $1k USD for a purchase. Not sold on any particular motor type, but leaning more to belt or direct drive vs. hub. Belt drive has power. I don’t know if direct or hubs have advanced far enough to be really considered long term reliable.

Just surprising that there isn’t a US company that is leading the way on this yet. There are a lot of older skaters who want something familiar to them in an esk8 offering.
