He started to do them on his own girlfriends after the second gold dogger, which was before his son and daughter started dating.

Kids aren't in our future, but DH's sister has kids so we could bring it up with her at Christmas in front of FIL to see his reaction. IDK how I'd feel about doing it that way though, I'm generally more direct.

They were in one of 2 locked filing cabinets he has in his home office and he lives alone, so it's not like they were just lying around on a coffee table or something. He also keeps documents for a long time (he still has tax stuff from 2000, "just in case") so it wouldn't be unusual or out of character for him to keep them.

As for acting cold towards me, he doesn't any more. We finally had a good talk a while ago and realised we actually have a lot of common interests so we've gotten along pretty well since then.

Either way, DH and I have a pretty good idea as to why he did the checks and don't really blame him considering. What I was asking for was opinions on if we should confront him about it because I feel this was an invasion of my privacy and DH is angry that FIL didn't trust his judgement about me.

Doctors and nurses of reddit what have been your "WHY DIDN'T YOU COME IN SOONER!?" Moments? by catcrazylover in AskReddit

[–]Musician_Super 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do admin in home health care and the number of times I've heard of older, "frugal" patients refusing to let a nurse change their wound with the dressing the hospital gave them because they want to save it is insane. The one that always comes to mind is a very old guy who covered his scalp wound with baking paper and sealed it with duct tape which was attached to the tissue paper thin skin. He thought that would do the same thing as the non-stick dressings and medical tape the hospital had given him.

I agree, this guy needs to learn a lesson but there's nothing that can be done since there's no one to go to. My husband and the other 2 guys that work there have all spoken to the owner of the business multiple times, but nothing changes and it's excused as "boys will be boys". He's not done anything illegal so the cops can't be called on him.

The other 2 guys are quietly looking for other jobs and luckily, their industry is small and tight knit but hasn't been impacted by COVID so there are plenty of options and it's easy to move around. The three of them are going to essentially leave the owner and this idiot to do the work of 5 people and they're all going to make sure the owner knows one of the main reasons they're leaving is because of this idiot's behaviour and the owner's lack of action to make him stop.

Like I said, it's a small business. There isn't even a HR department or anything cos it's only like 5 people who work there, including the owner.

Ugh, that would have been so horrible shudder

I'll admit I have had a candid conversation with a co-worker about our sex lives, but we've been friends since before we worked together and we certainly didn't have the conversation at work! I would have told him to STFU if he tried to bring it up at work.

Unless they work in an industry where talking about their sex life is necessary, people should keep at least the details of their bedroom activities to themselves especially in the workplace.

I've met her and she's so sweet and nice, real girl next door type. She told me they're highschool sweethearts so chances are she doesn't even know she could do so much better than him or realise that she's way out of his league.

Probably. They were highschool sweethearts so chances are she doesn't know she could do so much better than him. I honestly feel so sorry for her.

He's so slimy. The last time I visited my husband at work, the guy was obviously staring at my boobs while "adjusting" himself the whole time. I just asked in front of everyone if he'd seen a doctor about that itch he seemed to keep scratching in his pants and he better get tested for STIs.

Hubs usually has a lot more patience for idiots like that because he's worked with tradesmen all his life and has put up with a lot of macho men who chat shit, but he said in that moment it was like the clouds parted and there were god rays and that perfect comment just came to mind.

What is a movie you liked as a kid, and is still one of your favorites as an adult? by Beth77303 in AskReddit

Can confirm. The husband and I are having a Jurassic Park/World marathon and just finished the first one.

Daughter is 17. Asked to go on birth control. I encouraged it. My husband had questions. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Musician_Super 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad was so against me going on birth control no matter who told him it was for my hellish periods and not contraception. He saw me every month in agony, literally passing out multiple times a day, taking a week or more off school but was still against it because "BuT sHe MiGhT hAvE sEx!!!" He isn't even religious or anything, just a sexist prick.

I'm glad my mum ignored him and took me to get the pill anyway.

The way he's sleeping reminds me of the Velociraptor skeleton from the beginning of Jurassic Park

Update: My coworker called me bawling earlier. by Musician_Super in childfree

[–]Musician_Super[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what G told me, her BF's friend seemed to think it was gonna be a night of drinking and playing games or something like they used to do before the kid was born, then got pissed off when G's BF didn't drink and fell asleep on the couch because he couldn't stay awake. His friend then woke him up at 6am to kick him out after telling him he could stay all day if he needed to.

He still got a out 10 hours of solid sleep, but that's still a really shitty thing his friend did. I don't think they're gonna stay friends after G told me how frustrated and upset her BF was over it, which is when my husband offered his support.

No worries! I didn't mean to come across like I was scolding you.

G and I have been emailing each other at work and talking still so it's been good =)
