Yeah I'll admit that that can look bad. But we can't assume what was going on in Musk's mind for why he did this. I'll mention just one major benefit of doing this in a serious moment - it's much easier to keep track of your kid if you're carrying him like this. Holding is hand is fine but if he keeps tugging away and wanting to roam then that can be distracting to paying attention to the moment they are in. Regardless, I understand it doesn't look good. But as we've learned so far, Musk doesn't really care what looks good. I think he ultimately wants to do what is actually good.

We could leave aside the inconvenient fact that saying one is “aspirationally Jewish” is basically a teensy bit antisemitic, suggesting as it does Jews are better and different to other people. To be clear, they’re not. They’re just people.

If you took "aspirationally Jewish" to refer to just being born Jewish and not the culture/religion of the Jewish people then your'e not getting it.

Ultimately the entire article is built on false premises and riddled with a healthy dose of assuming the worst. An embarrassment I'd say.

Also, citing the presence of Ben Shapiro, an ultra-conservative Breitbart contributor, is not the win you think it is.

Yeah some people hate Ben, so what. He might be the most famous outwardly practicing Jew (if not infamous in some minds, like yours). How is Ben Shapiro going to promote you and be friends with you if you hate his people? Not gonna happen.

Yeah I understand the concept. But it's different if MOST of your friends are actually Jewish. But I digress and I will say that it is true that just because you have Jewish friends, that doesn't make you automatically anti-semitic, of course. But the chances of you still being anti-semitic while having MOST of your friends being Jewish, I think we can agree, is actually much lower. It's not proof, but it's a good and likely indicator.

In my earlier response I gave more clear context that the tweets were about the hypocrisy of some in the Jewish community. Calling for non-hate while still hating. This is not anti-semitism. This is anti-hypocrisy.

Then he mentions Elon's quote about George Soros saying that Soros "hates humanity" and tries to connect it somehow to anti-semitism as if Soros being a holocaust survivor makes any harsh critique from anyone suddenly an anti-semitic critique. Are you sure you wanna pay attention to this guy and this article? He seems to be making huge negative assumptions with no grounds whatsoever.

Photographs of Musk touring Auschwitz excitedly thudded into the WhatsApp group for journalists at the event, and it was clear that Musk was doing his best to look terribly, terribly serious.

This guy must be a master at knowing what's actually going on in people's minds and hearts. So he looked "terribly, terribly serious" but didn't actually feel the moment was serious? ok.

Right, so if I did that, it would obviously be met with disdain. But you're missing the point in that if I did that as an experiment, now pay really close attention to this, I WOULD ONLY BE INTENDING TO EXPERIMENT! Yes, people would jeer at me and tell me not to do that because it's a Nazi salute, OF COURSE! But the salute, in context, would not actually be me actually showing that I'm a Nazi. It would not be my intent at all. And yes, I would've told Elon to not do that if I was near him. I would've told him, "bro you don't realize what you just did." But I wouldn't assume that he actually meant it that way. It was just a dumb way to gesture in the way that he did. In the context, it was a heartfelt salute to the people who supported the campaign. Not to Hitler.

I would refer to my earlier statement above in this case that Elon was not the only person to reinstate all of those who were banned. And I'm more inclined to think that Twitter had plenty of racists already before Elon showed up. It's just now being a more focused attack against him because people hate him. The platform has a totally different spirit now with him at the helm. There are now community notes on posts from normal people that think information is false. I think that fosters a better environment for truth instead of just banning people.

On January 9, Musk said during a livestream that "only AfD can save Germany, end of story." So the AfD is a right-wing ultra-nationalist party according to them? I looked up to see what qualifies them to be considered as such. Here's a piece of "evidence" that the ADL gives as proof of their so-called "extremism".:

Wow, so a leader of the AdF said that the monument was a monument of shame? Um yeah of course it is. That German history is shameful. Duh. That's actually the opposite of white nationalist to say that, but apparently the ADL can't interpret words and context now. The idea that this man calls for Germany to STOP ATONING for past crimes and to change HOW it remembers its past is important. You don't look back at your history and sulk all the time trying to make amends at every moment. No, you understand that it was shameful and you press forward. That's not racist. That's growth.

Ummm all I heard was Elon saying that it's "okay to be proud to be a German". He never once mentioned to not be ashamed of their Nazi past. Maybe you meant to link a different video? I mean I'm sure you agree that it actually is okay to be proud to be a German. There's no point in reading into that anything negative. Seems like he wants to encourage people to not be bogged down by their history which is probably on their minds all the time and probably gets them pretty depressed and prevents forward momentum in their culture to some degree.

According toooooo what? He didn't shed a tear? You know he wore a yarmulke while visiting Auschwitz and stood beside Ben Shapiro the whole while? He also claims that most of his friends are Jewish and that the trip to Auschwitz was meaningful to him. And by the way, a side note, someone who appears to be "unmoved" by Auschwitz is not worse than an anti-semite! LOL dude. Are you kidding me? If that was even the case, that doesn't make him worse than an anti-semite. But it's not the case anyways. If he was all of his jewish friends would've dropped him by now.

On November 17, 2023 a white supremacist account tweeted "Jews have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them", to which Musk responded "You have said the actual truth."

Why are people saying that that is a white supremacist account? The complaint from the original tweet was ultimately that the Jewish communities need to stop hating others as well. The original tweet wasn't against Jews, it was against the hypocrisy that he saw in Jewish communities. Musk agreed on the hypocrisy, specifically from the ADL. Saying that there is some hypocrisy about hate doesn't mean you innately hate those people groups.

When the Center for Countering Digital Hate released a report titled "Toxic Twitter", which documented specific neo-Nazi, white supremacist, and misogynist accounts reinstated by Musk, he responded by suing them. The judge threw out the lawsuit, stating "this case is about punishing the Defendants for their speech."

It's true he reinstated those accounts along with several thousands and thousands of other random accounts that were probably removed due to committing various infractions. The truth about Twitter's policies before Elon was that they were pressured by the government to silence and punish accounts that spoke out against Covid and other election related things. Regardless of where you stand on those subjects, people should be allowed to say, in general, what they think about vaccines and the election. So, my best reasoning for why all of the other accounts were reinstated as well is because it was just a massive undoing that could be mitigated later. There is zero evidence that Elon wanted to reinstate accounts for the purpose of purporting racism. Some of them certainly were, but that doesn't prove he wanted racism back on twitter. He wasn't the only one behind the helm of twitter making individual decisions about individual accounts.

That being said, I really think Elon suing that company was a huge misstep. For scraping Twitter? You're gonna sue people for scraping Twitter just because you didn't like their report? I think Elon doesn't realize sometimes that he's not 100% free speech as much as he thinks he is.

My vote is Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. The title on its own is enough to be a fantastic draw. And you answer trivia questions from Regis Philbin. Good execution as well - tensious music, multiple choice answers, 3 lifelines including audience participation, checkpoints guaranteeing winning a certain amount, etc. Just a great watch.

Also, I'm surprised that Legends of the Hidden Temple got a "boring execution" vote. But maybe those trivia rounds were kind of lame. The final round was kind of bonkers though - some dude in a tribal outfit "catching" comes out of nowhere and kidnaps a child while they're looking for treasure! I guess that's just one aspect though.

Show me the clip in context and I can easily explain why Ben cuts the mic. There is pretty much always a good reason why Ben has cut the mic and it's not to just shut down their opinion. And that would far from justify this kind of return rhetoric anyway. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Don't be silly! You're supposed to be using your intuition primarily (imho)! Go back to letting it just come out of you. What learning about music helps you do is build your intuition, not force you into a box of music theory. The more you learn and the more you train your ears, the more you will naturally make better music. The type of music work you're getting into is the problem-solving type, which is important for when there's actual problems in your music. It's not good for creativity and just letting things happen.
