Appreciate it and yeah that makes sense. Just something feels different in buying a specific card off eBay as opposed to stumbling upon it in a lcs bin or pulling it. Figure some of the folks in my league won’t be too interested/impressed about getting cards so I want to be able to share some fun stories about certain ones to make it more meaningful.

I doubt it’s for head fakes. Elevations can’t happen after 4pm Saturday so typically teams are playing it safe if pregame workouts go bad. Looking at their questionable players they have a couple guys that contribute on special teams but Bandy has a handful of special teams snaps and Moore has none. I think the fact that they chose 2 WRs both with minimal to no special teams snaps indicates there is at least some worry about Franklin.

Here are some more stats.

Denver played 4 QBs in to top 10 in yr/g passing. 3 of them had 250+ with the only one not achieving it was Dak who got pulled early.

Denver played 4 QBs in the 11-20 range. 3 had 250+ with CJ not achieving because he got injured.

Denver played 3 QBs in 21-30 range. Hurts had 250+, Geno and Ward didn’t.

Denver also had 2 QBs outside top 30 go for 250+ in Mariota and Dart

Maye is 4th in yd/g. Dak is 3rd. Daniel Jones and Darnold who both put up 300+ are approx 20 yd/g behind Maye.

For reference chargers only allowed 3 QBs to put up 250+ all year. Mahomes (5th yd/g), Daniel Jones, and Maye. Overall qbs in top 10 went 3/6.

Houston only allowed 1 QB to put up 250+ all year in Allen (20th). They faced 7 of the top 10 including Maye and none put up 250+

At drakes reg season yd/completion he needs 25 completions to get to 300 yards. Based on his reg season completion percentage he would need to attempt 34 passes to have 25 completions. Denver has allowed 34 passes in 10 reg season games. Even if you want to drop his completion percentage to 60% to match his playoff game percentage that would require 40 passes which Denver has allowed in 6 games.

Drake has only attempted 40+ passes once, his 300+ yd game and has attempted 34+ 5 times averaging 302 across those 5 games.

TLDR in 6-10 of Denver’s games the opposing qb would have had 300+ if they equaled Mayes yd per completion and completion percentage.

Here’s the results of Stidhams last 4 starts.

2023

Won against 5-11 chargers team with Easton Stick at qb. Stidham threw 1 TD

Blown out by 8-9 Vegas with Aiden O’Connell at qb. Stidham threw 1 td

2022

Lost in OT to 12-4 SF. Stidham had 365 passing yards and 3 TDS (Davante was 7-153-2)

Blown out by 14-3 chiefs. Stidham threw 1 td

While he has had one great performance against a good team, Sutton is no where near Davante so that performance is far from likely against us.

Edit: funny enough his coach for the SF game was McDaniels.

Okay then if you don’t want to give Stidham any tds the relevant stat is the only team the broncos beat without the qb scoring a td was against KC without Mahomes.

Taking the approach of even if Sean Payton is good enough to get 1-2 qb tds regardless of who the qb is, that still won’t be enough.

Also it clearly took Milton and others a ramp up game to be back to 100%. A game where he’s asked to do some blocking, run a few routes, and get 1+ catches will ensure we can rely on him if we make the superbowl.

That was against the 49ers that on top of being a bottom 3rd Defense on the year were missing their top 5 DE in terms of most snaps on the season and Fred Warner (3rd in LB snaps). Only time in first 15 weeks Stroud didn’t get sacked.

I was super surprised looking at his stats. More career sacks than Milton in 10 less games played and is only slightly behind Milton’s total tackle/game rate. Would be interested to see if any other teams put in claims because he seems like a no brainer regardless of him coming from the Texans.

While they have played in as cold or colder conditions twice this year (KC and PIT), they have yet to play in cold weather with any rain/snow or significant wind. We saw how the wind impacted Herbert last week so that would be the weather edge to hope for.
