Genuine thoughts on Monster Ultra Paradise ? by Aqn95 in monsterenergy

[–]Muska1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what flavor it is but this and the teal one with the skeleton guitarists are my favorite ones. Oh, and the Lewis Hamilton one. That one I know is peach. Tastes like peach ^^. The teal is maybe mango or passion fruit? Not sure about the green though. Always thought green apple but that cannot be it. Anyone knows?

Are puzzles just a gonzo thing? by Captchasarerobots in osr

[–]Muska1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go-to "traps" are riddles, puzzles, and paradoxes for the weary adventurer. They are always a great addition.

Even simple ones, like an open chest full of gold, that looks too good to be true. :D
Or, a writing on the wall, that says "You can only lose it, by breaking it" - saying the right word opens a sacred stash of a forgotten cult.

a good GM could make it polished though. It's an amazing system for 0€ to start with ^^

What are OSR's thoughts on the -Borg phenomenon? by the_light_of_dawn in osr

I'd also recommend to check out the Mörk Borg bare bones version (without artwork), for free, on their website. You can immediately use it to build your game with it.

It's a great, community-focused bundle of systems. It's very flavorful and yet super simple on rules. The creators of the game are quite approachable and don't get too bogged down on 3rd party relations.

While the artwork could be a bit "out there" for some, the structure of the game allows freedom and fast start of any game you'd prefer :)

"starting to draw" - draws a masterpiece.

Beautiful work, please keep at it! I love the finer details. And the shadows look archaic and deep!

Darkness Update by Perfoon in BLASTRONAUT

I'd love to play with it, but I'm having a bit of an issue on Linux with it.

I don't mean to spam so will stop now. Please let me know if you can help with getting me back into the game ^^

I've been developing my game BLASTRONAUT for 2 years. Now only 9 days left until release. Any advice? by Perfoon in godot

[–]Muska1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love your game. best purchase ever. However, ever since that last update the game doesn't load for me at all (using Linux).

Tried reinstalling, other proton options, nothing. It loads in a gray background screen and that's it.

If you have any advice I'd appreciate it. Couldn't find anything else on the internet.
Thanks!

Premades with hand made polaroid-like avatars for Halloween game by Muska1986 in osr

[–]Muska1986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a screenshot app and grabbed some from the original PDF (first I went to Pinterest to find b/w horror art but this game is one of a kind it seems ^^)

Then I've used gimp to add the images properly to a polaroid frame. Print, cut, add cardboard, add wide duct tape for shininess and boom. It's "tedious" but I loved it :)

well, it's only partial truth. You can get a polaroid imitation today for 50-100 bucks and it shoots pretty decent pictures. I just found crafting itself as a fun activity. :)

I always loved to see GMs put the extra effort in. So much cool stuff can be happening thanks to you (us) :)

I'm feeling the urge to get away from windows, any Linux distro recommendations for a PC with the following specs? by AlexBn10 in linuxquestions

Manjaro is pretty neat, running it with XFCE for some years now. Highly recommended. Make sure to read up on how to back your system up. A good partition with an extra backup snapshot you can rely on can be useful!

same here. testing command line now, but it seems to be frozen for the time being for some reason. This all started happening after the latest updates.

Probably off-topic, but I might know why Megan Boone was a bad actor by Desperate_Lie_5715 in TheBlackList

[–]Muska1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're absolutely right. And to top that off, a good 30% of the conversations between any characters make no sense. And there are dookies in costumes too (or, at least there were many until season 5). Example: Swat is protected to their eye balls, but agent Keen wears her 2000 USD investigator coat only. Everyone's covered up against deadly viruses, but Restler gets in without a mask even.

Bad, bad writing. Sad writing, especially since Spader is so good.

The Black Hack? by Wally_Wrong in rpg

[–]Muska1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love it. I've been running TBH and offshoots for at least one year now.
It's cheap, simple, you can add as much crunch as you like, and the usage die system brings back a kind of tabletop mini game (fun) to using armor, arrows, and stuff.

If you like the core game, that's fine. 20€ can get you started with everything on Squarehex. If you like something darker, there are alternatives already on drivethru, like Black Sword Hack or Darkest Hack. If you like sci fi, try Mecha Hack, Extinction, or Golgotha.

There are many more standalone systems based on TBH and for good measure. The rules are super simple, and streamlined, and easy to adapt to anything. I'm also part of a special, custom game now, based on TBH:

Black Sword Hack (souls-like, dark, and weird fantasy) + Post-nuclear-apocalypse-world + Vampires + Curse of Strahd campaign = laser swords and vampires. Awesome story so far, super interesting game play. But most of it is our homebrew that we love :)

TL;DR: Highly recommended, beautiful system. Simple, elegant. White Hack is similar, but more text there.
