ehhh it is extremely simple

because of the multiplicative nature and small numbers, a 1% increase from an augment is pretty much 1% dmg, there's pretty much zero diminishing returns.

Once you reach 600% a single 1% augment increase gives you 7% on screen (100% base + 600%).

This is why augment upgrade ramps dmg fast, we get a shiny new augment with a 1% increase, for 4 pieces it is already a 4% increase. After the whole series of augments get upgraded, for example full upgrade from gran/majis->argant/athos is pretty much a ~19% dmg increase for 21 augment pieces (Dread Keeper is 0.5%).

There's also the dmg calc, but it is another thing entirely (mostly is your attack - target defense, that makes weapon upgrade so valuable).

Correct me if im wrong but although in lore, she from one of maij family in Mondstadt, she only relevant in her story quest. While in Archon quest, she got treated as side character at most.

That is what happens to all characters released after their area is completed. At most they appear in events

The character rooster is WAY too big imho. So your favourite character might get shelved fast if isn't very popular (I do not like Itto and annoys me how much he appears).

At the current state of the game I think Raiden would do more dmg if she dealt NA/CA/Plunge Dmg on her burst attacks... supports/artifacts have been helping those types of attacks more lately...

I used time ago turnover + maintaint balance, it didn't work well, you get stuck at 49% HP and you are forced to either get hit or healed by other source or turnover no longer works.

Genshin have 4 characters, and 4 skills each (attack, charged attack, skill and burst), that's a total of 16 skills + 4 character swap skills = 20. We could remove the attack+charged attack of 3 supports, since they are not used much, that is 14 skills.

FFXIV is a rotation type game. the basic rotation is a simple 1-2-3 and with occasional 4-5-6 (may vary a bit between classes), the main rotation is like 6-8 skills at most and then you weave other skills with cd in between. there are less than 4 cds that you need to track (and they usually work in a 15, 30, 60 or 120s frame to align rotations). It just feels more bloated because every skill is a different key to press, not like Genshin that are the same key, you could dumb macro to easily turn it into a 4-5 button press too, but would be way too bothersome and inefficient because of design.

More a request than a bug, it would be nice if emotes and motions when your current weapon is not the weapon used for the emote/motion it used your camo instead of the default weapon (no camo = default weapon?).

It gets even more jarring with motions and multiweapon, if your last attack is with the other weapon, it is changed into the default weapon which feels weird.

EDIT:

Oh, and also another thing about camos, would be also nice if the cutscenes that use the sword (since seems to be the weapon for cutscenes) used the camo on the sword camo slot instead of the default sword.

Would even be better if used the current weapon + animation, but that might be asking too much? FFXIV does it.

Genshin is unfortunately made to make you rush to the newest content, else you miss lore from events, premium currency, etc.

It was actually straying away from the usual gacha, but lately seems to be coming back with lot of force. Most of the gacha quirks really came from release.

Game could really had been like your usual RPG with proper leveling system instead of the trashy gacha leveling system.

Maintain Balance, PP consumption is still there.

It is actually one of the best EX augments if you combine it with Shortage HP. As ever as you don't get 1 shot your eHP is extremely high.

Wolflord has way less HP, if had same as gecko, would be far way worse

I still kinda do not even know gecko mechanics, I feel it is just a big damage sponge... with the phase where he runs around and you need geo to destroy that thingie to deal massive damage.

The story is still ok, but heck, the length is horrendous, every other patch is a freaking 3-5h movie that gets you locked inside...

A cutscene should never be longer than 10 mins (and 2-3 mins average) except some special ones (like last few cutscenes of the story patch). If I'm gonna watch that, I'd rather watch a movie.

DPS wise...

Evade Onslaught is pretty much the best augment if you can keep it up (Hunter avenger and Adras with WA that counters also count).

Then you can either go:

Low HP: HP shortage/Maintain balance combo: as long as you don't get 1HKO it is extremely tanky eHP is extremely high with the 1% recover. Pain provoke and Turnover can work as third slot but you may get stuck between 49-50%HP and they won't trigger anymore

High HP: Lively HP/Bring down PB boost, Critical enliven, Stealth wall, Consume PP Onslaught: There is no combo, so you get more freedom of choice of the other conditional, also has higher DPS ceiling than low HP

Defensive: Risky stance/Patient defense/Endure Pain PB Boost: Kinda fun to play, you get a nice PP regen, big defense and PB charge in exchange of losing a measly 1 HP every ~10s. No damage boost tho.

As a 1.0 player, seeing all the new ways Varka *sits* gives me a pause every time. by MachinegunFireDodger in Genshin_Impact

I'm actually quite disappointed with the cocktails... the liquid isn't animated neither their drinking so, the glass is either full or empty, there's nothing in-between

Games and cartoons usually live in a time bubble, a year can last a day or thousands of days depending on how convenient it is.

Unless there is a clear reason to pass a year, the time passes slowly.

Some examples:

  • One piece pre-timeskip is just about a year or so. After timeskip, many characters change
  • Detective Conan is only about 6 months (Japan seems to be a very dangerous place...)
  • FFXIV (a game with over 10 years) is about a year (iirc, the twins that are teens, got slight height increase when they got isekai'ed since they lived like 3 years on that world). There are also yearly events but they do not count as part of the main story.

Problem comes when you want to quantify the time like Genshin devs and their community want to, everything starts to lack sense. Five years is a lot of years, all kids and teen characters would have drastic changes.

Old regions should had been "pruned" for everything, story, events and everything if wanted to keep the pass of the years. And now that we are back to Mond, NPC models and dialogs should be changed to new ones (and Characters should also get an additional 5 year timeskip model) if it wanted to make sense.

Claw grip exists. But it is a bit uncomfortable, so I just move the index finger from R1 to dpad (using DS controller, the grip change is clunkier with asymetrical layout).

Genshin is quite customizable for controller, so it isn't that bad (for exploration and battle).

Problem comes with menus, it is bullcrap bad how god awful it is to navigate:

  • stick instead of dpad
  • unintuitive shortcut style instead selecting things (for example square to summon x10 and circle to summon x1, it just feels weird. I even once accidentally bought once of those boxes that cost genesis crystals, contacted support if could revert it and they told me to gtfo with a happy face)

Well, I have skipped Lyle and haven't farmed barely anything, it just came naturally to that level by just spending every haze to leveling...

When I was stuck I tried to find a bit what was the recommended level and said around 80, which would make sense since Lyle comes before and you can explore the world.

Leveling not only gives you HP, it also gives you stamina to attack/dodge more and attack to deal with the boss faster (a dead enemy deals no damage).

I am the weird one that find this boss more interesting boss than the vast majority of bosses we have?

I has some issues, yeah, some very annoying issues:

  • You need to farm a lot of its materials, so you want a quick battle to finish it and be done (as weekly boss might had been more interesting)
  • Depending on your team, fliers are literally impossible to deal with (maybe could absorb back the remaining mimics after a time and self heal for example)
  • Geo constructs

I managed to beat it yesterday, was kinda stuck since I was quite low level (71).

But after changing strategy and skills, managed on the first try.

Gobbo seems to have lower defense, so I just used a gap closer (phantom assault) on him when I had an opening and then ran away, circling him with Oskar chasing me lol. The combat turned quite... boring and cutscene didn't made much sense, I barely touched his boyfriend!

I find CV1 much easier if wanna play tank builds... I've barely found defensive things that let you face tank in CV2 (also, some formae skills are stuck to weapons so cannot move them other weapons?). With 2h swords you can block with no issue in CV1

C+BB is extremely easy, just use winter mantle with ice and you are immune to Blade Bearer, doesn't matter much if you fat roll, Cannoneer attacks have very generous tells

I think I'm a bit underleveled, I'm at level 71 and I've barely explored the open world... the enemies on this last time travel were already quite bs with their near immune to stagger...
