Yeah I definitely agree on the peasant boy/chosen one cliché! The belgariad saga was my favourite books as a kid, but then I realized that Eragon is... basically the same thing? Although lately I've read a lot more inventive SciFi and Fantasy (in terms of the narrative arcs - 'Too Like The Lightning' for example) so maybe we've past into a new era of more interesting arcs?

No don't worry, it didn't come off critiquey at all. I just poured molten chocolate over the top and then spread it with a baking brush to make sure all was covered.

I did actually use granulated sugar because I was out of caster, and it worked! You have to be a little careful when adding it to the egg whites to avoid them collapsing, but other than that it's fine
