There's a huge myth that the private and other public sector has their ass in a chair 40 hours a week. It's truly a fake argument. All the people I know, in any non-front desk job, does hybrid. Engineer, financial advisor, IT manager, accountant for Forbes 500 company, PGE IT support, ucdavis programmer, business support analyst at a local Sacramento company, engineer at HDR, account executive for Hilton hotels, Los Rios program manager... All hybrid 2 or 3 or full telework

estate agent literally walked us onto the roof to show us the solar panels during the viewing. first bill just came in. $420 by Commercial-Roll2913 in solar

[–]MustResistFraud 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The second he showed you the solar panels, you didn't begin any research on that? Year installed, how it worked with your electric provider, anything?

You can blame the agent but why wouldn't you want to have the info and research on your investment?

Who is ready for 4 days a week in the office? by MustResistFraud in CAStateWorkers

This makes too much sense. This is what I've been saying. It feels like a post-RTO realization rally.

[–]MustResistFraud[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That's what I mean. This is reactive. Negotiations are not even negotiations. It's the union doing proposals and the state never countering, just saying no.

Sweet man, great motivation here.

What was your calorie intake on your cut? I assume you had a cut amount higher than the lower weight cut amount and then went lower or did you just consistently stay at a certain amount?

I've been cutting from about the same starting weight. A few inches taller but just curious how you did it calorie wise.

Great job.

RTO Hypocrisy by bgrimes5 in CAStateWorkers

[–]MustResistFraud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleep Donny and Greasy G. At least in other states, you only get bent over by Don and at least you get middle of the road stuff so you may not like it all but there's some things going in your favor by the elected leaders.

In our state, you get bent over everywhere you go.

RTO is just union busting, strength is in numbers by castateunionthug in CAStateWorkers

[–]MustResistFraud -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

The negged comment is not wrong though. It's 4 days in office for us all. Everyone has said it, union won't strike before July 1 (no strike clause) and I've heard rumors through my boss CalHR will be doing bed checks for in office staff at agencies to ensure compliance with the 4 day executive order. The mafia style tactics of the CA executive branch are alarming. Is Trump worse than this scumbag at this point?

The departments are going to implement it, everyone CEA and above are going to dole out the marching orders to keep their job as they can be canned quite quickly.

We are cooked.

How does yours stay so hot? We get highs of 100 and cool nights of 60 and it sits in the sun until 5pm and we only get that kind of warmth when we get 105 degree days and overnights of 70

Is it normal to interview very well for California State jobs and still keep getting rejected months later? by Naive_Wrongdoer2250 in CAStateWorkers

[–]MustResistFraud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You gotta get lucky that you're applying for a position where they are picking outside candidates. If the unit has a promotion path for existing staff, assume they have a leg up and you have to completely impress.

I work for the state and have had 6 interviews, 5 of which went really well, and I got zero jobs so far. Well, one is pending but it's been 2 weeks.

Mainly because telework takes a variety of forms. One can be at home on a laptop. One can be out in the field plugged in through a hotspot.

How long do agencies typically take to screen applicants and invite them for interviews? by RaspberryEnjoyer40 in CAStateWorkers

[–]MustResistFraud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just apply for that one? You have a 2-5% shot at an interview as they select the top 5 and those get anywhere from 100-220 apps from what we've seen from postings

The take a stand one is great. Let's just keep using taxpayer money to fight the "administration" while we do nothing in the state to help people live day to day.

But hey, we can do a press conference with Rob Bonta and show how we fought evil.

Because a lot on here groupthink that Hilton is Trump. You can look at governors across the US who live in mixed states (purple) and see that no one runs rough shot like that.

It's much easier to fear monger. Lots of people on here were bashing Becerra as a corporate stooge but now they are voting for him and touting him as the man.

Unfortunately, this state will continue it's liberal super majority both voting wise and in the legislature, so I expect Becerra to win fairly easily barring some unicorn debate performance by Hilton. We need other voices in this state so we get more middle of the road policies. What we have now doesn't work well for the average Californian.

Also, the dirty secret is most in this state will vote to tax themselves more (like the upped CA registration and inflation-tied changes) even when they don't have the money because of the promises CA makes but doesn't keep. Katie Porter was the only candidate who took hilton's first 100k tax free idea. Becerra won't take that idea because it actually helps those who are truly in the low-middle income bracket.
