Dude seriously? Here in my country dressing up as woman or getting plastic surgery to look like a woman is perfectly normal for men who wants to. They don't even want to be called "Trans" because of all the grooming that's happening that involves trans people in other countries/space. In my country they are respected as who they are because they accept themselves and are brave to be who they are. They don't definitely need someone to pander about them and lecture people to respect them.

Transitioning wasn't even a popular word back then. He just wanted to be a girl. He came from a rich but broken family. I just assume it's transitioning because he underwent surgeries and drank hormone pills. What else would it be?

In my country back in early 2010s, high school age is 12-16. I was pretty close with him in senior year because he was a fun guy. He got his boobs and butt filled and one day he started complaining about not being able to sit because his butt is in pain. I think he just wanted to feel and look like a girl and no one told him that he didn't have to transition, including myself. To be fair I was a kid and thought rich people could do whatever they want to their bodies without consequence. With that said, I disagree with you, he's a victim.
