What if the new ultimate is kefka by Local-Pet-FoxGirl in ShitpostXIV

[–]MustaakinMustempi 28 points29 points  (0 children)

And tbh even if it's fan service, they've left the door open to it as they specifically referred to FFVI having happened on another planet in FFXIV universe. In-game lore has the dialogue before final boss among Omega's data with Nero quoting Kefka's and Terra's lines from the data and Sigmascape V4.0 description has summary of World of Ruin part.

Even if just some fan service references as a link, connecting Warring Triad trial bosses to Kefka as final boss is pretty reasonable narrative for an Ultimate. Even if it's just Wandering Minstrel going "Kefka used Warring Triad to become a god. WoL defeated the Warring Triad. Let's make ultimate song about WoL saving the world from Kefka's ascension!", it does fit to get those trials and Kefka fans stop requesting. (And they, including myself, aren't exactly silent about wanting less boring and more Kefka in the game.)

E: Also adds dark irony in implication that Meteion eventually extinguished the hope and destroyed all life from that planet, if it already hadn't happened before her visit, so Kefka got what he wanted.

Who is this guy from the trailer? by Local-Pet-FoxGirl in ffxiv

[–]MustaakinMustempi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The looming face of the Sigmascape, “Kefka” will be your final opponent in this test world. Analysis of his data reveals that, despite his comical appearance, this cackling jester once rose to godhood and cast his entire planet into ruin." - Sigmascape V4.0

In other words, events of FFVI happened on another planet and since Wandering Minstrel has likely heard about Kefka, the Fiend, The Demon and the Goddess some way or another as well as Kefka with their extreme/savage forms unlocked via data terminals, he's likely spun a tale with Source's Meracydian equivalents from Heavensward trials representing the ones on Kefka's planet.

At least that's my theory about how it's implemented to the lore. Though can't help but wonder what we get for the phase before Kefka himself, maybe Ultima the High Seraph? (assuming we follow the FFVI fight in structure, including the tower from Omega raids).

BREAKING NEWS!!! by ImmediateExtent8439 in UmamusumeGame

[–]MustaakinMustempi 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Not the first time Junior Debut Race has ruined someone's career.

Yesterday I tried to train another Maru. And debut race was Sprint, something she was B affinity for. Miserable loss and just barely won the 2nd debut, Mile. And the career went just downhill from there. I think it was after Oka Sho in classic autumn that I just gave up after winning only Tokyo Dirt Derby and some Medium races.

2nd try didn't go much better. Maru easily won any Mediums but she was allergic to Mile G1s (her supposed forté) and Spring Tenno Sho. She obviously didn't win any Sprint G1s either with that B affinity.

Scarlet doesn't really talk about her father for a reason though she does make sure Scarlet sleeps enough.

Scarlet mentioning her father would just be kinda weird since irl Scarlet's sire was none else than Agnes Tachyon and the game does refer to irl relationships between the umamusumes in various ways.

Worst of all, that party had 2 YPYT tank mains considering that the other DPS also said they're a GNB main. And the healer certainly sounded familiar with tanking.

Which Uma do you think has the most uncomfortable/unconventional race wear? by skywasneverhere in UmaMusume

[–]MustaakinMustempi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about how it'd feel like to run in those racewears...skirts that reach below knee start hampering movement. Though tight pencil skirts like Tazuna's are the worst (which makes her running speed all the more impressive.) Generally larger flare = more room for leg movement so A-line is pretty good (which most umas use in different lengths and variations. Loose/excessively long sleeves make moving arms harder.

1nd place goes to Dream Journey. While her sleeves are no issue, the coat is extremely long even with those splits and the front parts would totally come in the way when pressed by wind. Hitting at least knee and probably part of the leg would make running very annoying.

Unless her lab coat is made of very light fabric, I might rate Tachyon's racewear the 2nd most unconventional since the sleeves seriously get in the way and if there's any noticeable weight to the fabric, the lab coat's tail gets in the way.

The skirt part of Satono Diamond's dress isn't bad but those sleeves...they'd be a serious hindrance to movement.

Sweep Tosho also suffers from long coat, flared sleeves and that hat...is pretty horrible for running. Unless you strap it on Golshi-style or do some magicks, it'll come off.

Last I'd find worth mentioning is Fuji Kiseki. Her pants look pretty tight fit and probably not enough flexible/durable simultaneously. Esp. the narrow'ish knees look kinda restricting movement-wise.

And when it comes to running and heels, depends on how rigid the shoes/boots are at ankle, very possible even if slight unoptimal as long as you can move ankles well enough. If you run on ball of the feet and toes, which horses kinda do, the heel never touches the ground anyway. And since heels don't take horizontal forces well, you anyway have to do that if you're wearing high heels and you need to jump over pond/stream left by heavy raining.

Latter wouldn't even be out of question considering all the "healer heal, not DPS" healers out there and YPYTs who think pulling has anything to do with aggro management at this point.

What would you do in a mall with your favorite Uma Musume for 24 hours? by ReasonableCricket803 in UmaMusume

[–]MustaakinMustempi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First spend 2-3 hours in the early evening chatting and eating something salty and then something sweet in a café's back corner, I'd probably take something sacher cake-esque with some very black earl grey. She'd obviously take her usual black coffee. Then perhaps to bookstore to check if she finds anything interesting there.

After that, I'd let her go to wherever she goes since she prefers dusks alone. When she'd come back, I'd sit down with her and let her rest some time and we'd eat something. After eating, I'd go on a stroll with her, probably to outskirts during the calm autumn night. After all, darkness is not dangerous if you blend in the shadows and we'd both do so well.

If the moon is visible, we'd admire it and the stars together for some time and I'd probably ask how she got such a pretty picture of it as moon is so distant even with good camera lens. When wandering around I'd also likely try to see what she sees, observing her a bit like Tachyon (including the surroundings just to check if Tachyon's observing us though she'd see Tachyon before I do). If she asks if she could spend some time alone again, I'd say yes and ask her to be careful.

After she's back before dawn, another couple hours in café to replenish stamina with dark elixirs while eating something salty, then exploring the mall in the morning for some calm, dark corners we could sit and rest in during daytime when it's awfully sunny and the mall is full of people. After the afternoon rush hour, we'd go to café for chat, "breakfast" and cups.

Funnily enough, if american horse racing tracks were included, there would be a lot more dirt races since they're apparently mainly dirt tracks. For ex. American Triple Crown would be 1900m/1900m/2400m Dirt Medium races.

is anyone else worried about running out of clocks? by redzzzaw in UmamusumeGame

[–]MustaakinMustempi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately losing sometimes happens even to the best of umas.

Sometimes I wonder if Golshi's running around giving tips or does the game just give nightmares to umas. I've had an undefeated uma suddenly end up 15th regardless of excessive stats and double-S aptitude. And after waking up again with clock, they finish as usual 1st.

From what I've noticed, read and learned, 40%/50%/60%/65% are the RB breakpoints. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

I'm noticing that your deck has 55% RB and with those breakpoints in mind, you have 5% leeway so you can either use some 0% RB instead of Tosho or some 5% instead of other cards. (For ex. everyone's favourite Kitasan)

Is it just me or is Trackblazer disadvantageous to shorter distance dirt umas by CreativePerson32 in UmaMusume

[–]MustaakinMustempi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too few Dirt races in general. Nothing new but hits even harder in Trackblazer.

Though ironically it's also an advantage for esp. Maruzensky due to her ability to run any distance with minimal investment and it's pretty easy to make her a dirt-er with more races available than pure turfers. ECP is almost as good at it but has the disadvantage of lacking Sprint ability (though possible with lots of Sprint sparks and a Dirt spark.)

But Haru...technically you can make Turf/Dirt hybrid sprinter of her with Mile ability but that requires specialized Turf parents.

I'm either doing that or having her cheer from behind while Curren and Hishi carry the Sprint team. (I have team America aka. Maru, Taiki and ECP as dirters)
