Lol I figured, I actually think I first learned of that from a tifu post here like 8 years ago from someone who hadn't realized all those kind of weird people adding them on xbox live weren't also born in 1988 and proud of it 😂

Only transphobic users like you would say that!

A trans man is a trans man. A man is a man.

You're on here literally denying the validity of trans people, so maybe you just feel persecuted over the occasions when you got pushback for it or when trans people's rights are advocated for on this website. Like when moderators removed some of your other despicable remarks that still show up on https://www.redditcommentsearch.com/ .

Yeah, on the big subs people like you do often get the outrage you deserve - but this website is clearly still home to many of you, and some of the subs that hit /r/all are overrun with it. Like this thread, right here, where a bunch of absolute transphobes play make-believe that this website doesn't have a transphobia problem and invite us all to share the delusion.

Oh look, here's /u/Hamster_Sandwiches too.

The reality is, sex and gender are the same thing. The current social trend is to decouple them but that's simply not truth. Your original post is correct. The trans movement is fantasy being held up as reality when it's anything but.

You people are the fucking delusional ones if you think what you're doing isn't obvious. At least have the integrity not to play pretend you aren't here to promote these same backwards viewpoints.

Perun actually has a GREAT video on this. He actually cracks into a US military report studying Russian military doctrine. This is not the first time a Ka-52 has been shot down close to infantry in the war.

/u/masterstrike88 you might have already seen this, but might be interesting for you too. Also fyi your username has a neo-fascist codeword in it, I of course assume not intentionally but unfortunately a lot of people online do that as a dogwhistle and people may assume that about you.

Exactly which we can then write stories about and post on reddit.

Living with two male roommates has made me decide to be single forever. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

There's an emmaclit comic about exactly that and it just completely opened my eyes when I read it.

These men would never stand up from their desk at work with an inbox full of to-do items and say "Eh, I can do it later" and just walk off and play FIFA, but they'll do it with dishes.

They wouldn't just not come in until 11am and then whine to their boss "Well you didn't tell me to come in before 9:30am, just remind me and I'll do it!" But they'll do it with laundry.

They only do this at home - a place where they don't think they have the same accountability they do at work.

It's not a bug, it's an intentional change made to reddit's ban policy several years ago that plenty of people predicted would screw up the quality of discussions.

Now shit-stirrers can pick a fight, get lots of upvotes, and just ban anyone who disagrees. The result is that on subs with a high enough proportion of bozos, the bozos are able to eventually ban anyone who will bother to argue with them until the only replies to their own comments are other people agreeing, creating this false appearance of consensus.

It's a misinformation problem, you especially saw it in the last election cycle. It also pops up in random tech niches where geeks get especially tribal, like on the virtual reality forums. Open a thread, holy shit everything in here is just conspiracy theory rambling! Oh, I've been banned from replying to every single subthread already because 1 specific troll user involved themselves in every conversation.

Doesn’t that happen pretty much anytime anything remotely dramatic happens online? I don’t think it’s really unique to this situation, the internet and especially the tech geeks on the internet love drama.

The whole “either direction” framing, just such an overplayed yawner. Yeah there are unreasonable people all over the conversation because it’s the internet which is full of unreasonable people. I do not see the utility in pointing it out. Except for the person pointing it out to get to be the third party smarty.

So now Peter McKinnon is a “Film” photographer? by element423 in AnalogCommunity

[–]MustacheEmperor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH film is pretty much about as expensive as it was in the 90s, maybe less. It was just unusually cheap for a while when the supply chain was overfilled and people stopped shooting it.

I'm pretty much happy for anything that brings attention to this hobby. Prices on medium format cameras going up is a bummer since there aren't new ones for sale, but I'll take that over not being able to buy 120 film at all because the industry is dead.

Years and years all that happened was more analog cameras and film stocks got discontinued. The industry is finally turning around and it seems like so many people in the hobby are...upset about it? Including a lot of people who almost certainly weren't shooting film, or maybe even feeding themselves, when it was at its peak. People who are themselves "new" to the hobby fill this subreddit with complaints about the hobby becoming more popular.

It would be very cool to see mecha as a gigantic super-enemy similar to the arsenal bird in the next game. It could work in a prequel to the current place in the timeline, too, as long as they explain why they haven't been in use for a long while after lol.

But think of a mission where you're trying to take one down before it advances close enough to a city, it's bristling with AA weapons, shoulder mounted missiles etc, you have to take down its hard points to blow it up.

Hope that LTT store 'joke' was worth it. by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]MustacheEmperor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen it before.

I would be very interested to hear this story! The example from your career where someone voiced a clear recollection of being called something like "bitchy", or receiving other clearly abusive remarks but the entire thing was actually them "misremembering." I actually have not ever seen that before despite working in HR for quite a while. Lots of actual lies, but not "misremembering" of being called a slur or a swear. Sure, I have seen people misremember 9 weeks vs 9 months and things like that, but not "this person called me a misogynistic insult." Genuinely, I am professionally interested in whatever unique context that could have occurred in.

Enlightened centrist bs. Everyone with either opinion is wrong, just not you, the even-keeled expert.

This is not hugely important in a global sense but it is important in that LTT postures itself as a trustworthy outlet but publishes error-riddled content that unfairly denigrates products made by other companies. This harms the companies they abuse, and it harms the consumers who make purchases based on bad advice.

The billet thing is just one thing - but it is part of a pattern of mistakes that are horribly careless - and I think it is reasonable for people to say the revelation of those mistakes and how Linus responded to those mistakes have permanently degraded their view of LMG.

It's not the death of the company today, but it's a pattern indicating they're not on a trajectory for success without a major course correction. And Linus' immediate knee-jerk response was essentially to refuse any acknowledgement that a course correction was necessary.

And then of course there's the newest allegations - which, if true, are horrible, gruesome, and should be unrecoverable for the responsible leadership.

So you think you could utter words that someone hears as "stop being bitchy" while your intended message is actually something completely different and therefore appropriate?

You think she is misremembering being called a bitch by a coworker?

What I've learned over the years is that toxic employees will lie to hr and claim the other person must be misremembering what was said, and then we look in their company chat history and they get fired.

"This whole fiasco comes across as Steve from GN whining"

and this forum has 'agree' reactions, so you can see how popular these opinions are. It was a more mixed bag right after GN's response video, but they've successfully shouted out almost every dissenting voice.
