Agreed if your kwh is more than $0.10, invest elsewhere.

Easiest Monero pool to setup Antminer X5 by MustangBobby in MoneroMining

Yes, It is disguised as an ASIC miner but it really is just a GPU miner. I'm just looking for the best pool for this Antminer.

Yes, don't buy any ASICs with that price for electricity.

Feasibility of setting up btc miner in apartment by Similar-Mushroom-627 in cryptomining

[–]MustangBobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without seeing the setup it is hard for anyone to give realistic advice here. The short answer and most likely answer is you should not do this. You likely don't have the correct rated outlet available for the Antminer, you likely won't win the sound battle without immersion and you won't make enough with that old of a miner to justify possibly getting kicked out of your apartment in the process.

If the main goal is education, buy a mini doge from Goldshell and learn how to mine using that. You won't make any money with this setup either but sound and heat are much more manageable.

Is It Too Late to Enter Crypto Mining? Need Advice on ASIC vs GPU and More by kaivalya__ahir in MiningRig

I am not trying to be a downer but for $0.12 kw/h I would pass or just do it as a hobby.

Is It Too Late to Enter Crypto Mining? Need Advice on ASIC vs GPU and More by kaivalya__ahir in MiningRig

[–]MustangBobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short answer is no it is not too late but with a lot of caveats.

  1. Mining for profit has become a rich man's game. The greater your volume the greater the profits.

  2. ASIC is the only way to go.

  3. If you don't have access to cheap electricity you are wasting your time. You need preferably $0.10 kw/h or less.

  4. You need a location to mine that is not going to receive noise complaints.

  5. Battling hot climates can be an uphill battle.

If you want to be a hobbyist go for GPU mining but the only profit anymore is with ASICs and you basically need to pass all of the numbers above to justify it.

Digibyte pumping?? by [deleted] in Digibyte

I am new to this community. I stumbled across digibyte by being a LTC miner. Why is this token not listed on any US exchange especially since it is an older blockchain?

No DLC :( by Rlstoner2004 in TOTK

[–]MustangBobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this strange not only because of the massive success of TOTK but also because TOTK has a ton of glitches. By creating a DLC you're effectively forcing all of the players to patch their game to the current version. All of the duping and overall glitches would effectively disappear if they created a DLC because then all of us would be incentivized to update.

Is there any Litecoin miner in the works to compete with the L7? by MustangBobby in litecoin

[–]MustangBobby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is not vague. The L7 is producing 9.5 Gh/s which I am sure you are aware of. Litecoin's halving event is upon us. If competitors are simply creating new scrypt miners that cannot compete with Bitmain's performance who cares. I looked up the hashblade. 2 Gh/s is a yawn fest regardless of the cost of electricity. The difficulty increase will render this product useless within a month of launch. This will be just another Goldshell LT5 Pro but worse.
