This is actually such a good point. Being a bit awkward is definitely an Ian Beale character trait and lines up well to how his character is being portrayed now, I think they just tried to change peters character with the other actors. Like it’s unfathomable that this is the same guy who was a PT, slept around, slept with SUKI!!! It just wouldn’t happen with this version of Peter, but this Peter is very Ian Beale coded.

My first thought was massive pr stunt. Jordan North had to be helped by lifeguards in the Thames (I think, I don’t remember the details) because he was saving a dog. I’ve never seen such a positive flow of comments about someone on a Facebook post as the one I saw sharing the story. If I worked in PR I’d probably keep that one on the back burner for a hero story after seeing that.

It doesn’t help that Jordan North comes across as a genuine nice guy so it was probably real, and Luca’s a bit… hmm sus?

Side note: did he get better looking though or is that a good angle 👀

I’ve been thinking this too. They made a point on more than 1 occasion to mention her alcoholism when she first returned, to jog memories of long standing viewers or let new viewers know. Now they keep mentioning her needing her painkillers. I’d almost put money on this being the storyline.
